Breaker, breaker, Good Buddies, come back, come on~ Bubba Whoosh is in need of a bit of "hep"!
That is, the Bubba has the need to source out some brass washers, but not just any kind of brass washers! Hopefully, the following explains:
In "scratching" around from one plane project to another, the need continually arises to resort to the use of solderable brass washers. In the past year or two, I managed to pick up some I feel are great. But, sob, they have now come and gone!
Specifically, the ones sought are packaged as an assortment of 3 sizes of washers ("About" 1/4" OD, 3/16" OD, and 1/8" OD), and the unique feature is that each size can be used by itself, or, the smallest can be used to bush the middle size, and the middle size in turn can be used to bush the largest size!
This arrangement works super well in providing flexibility when soldering the washers on different diameters of spring steel/music wire, and especially when used as wheel retainers. Granted, there is the alternative of using the more modern set screw/collar-type retainers, but my preference is to go with soldered washers....
The problem is, I can't recall what manufacturing source produced them, and/or where I may have purchased them. I'm sure, however, it was from a modeling supplies source and not anything along the hardware store line.
Any leads as to where I can find such puppies will be very much appreciated!
In anticipation, many Thanks... in advance!
