Micro trucks are hot this year, and XRAY is right in the mix of things with its new M18T truck. The 1/18-scale 4WD truck comes with a shaft-drive drivetrain; fully independent front and rear suspension; adjustable oil filled shocks; front and rear gear differentials; and the chassis accommodates five or six cell battery packs. A cool accessory kit allows you to easily convert the truck into a full-fledged monster truck.

Although the chassis of this new truck is still under wraps and we were not able to get a picture, more details are forthcoming. Stay tuned!

My Friend and I got in a argument about whats really under there. They over heard us talking about the "M18T", We thought that their was just a piece of plastic under there, but we could not figure it out. All I know is that they dont want anybody to know what is under their, That cloth that covers the M18T was screwed into the display case!! They really went out of their way on that. They also could not tell us anything about it "we tried to bribe they with a pack of sweettarts", they said they just wanted to put it out their so people would know about it.

Like you said, there is NOTHING under the cloth....just some form of stuff that make it look like a mini truck.............who would take a risk that someone might see the prototype car before they release it...?

Beside...when was the last time you will see the prototype car in USA soil before they actually release the car...? USA always get the best at the last minute...........

this is from another forum from november 11th (not by me)

"Well pretty much what RCCA had.

Quote:
Main Features:
•1/18 professional 4WD shaft-drive micro truck.
•Optional conversion set transforms the truck into a monster truck.
•The world's only convertible micro truck.
•Maximum drivetrain efficiency.
•Drivetrain includes 16 high-speed ball-bearings for maximum efficiency and speed.
•Fully independent front and rear suspension.
Oil filled shocks.
•Front and rear gear differentials.
•Adjustable shock position for damping adjustment.
•Easily-adjustable motor mount.
•Chassis accommodates 5 or 6 cell battery packs.

No mention of sealed bearings. So I can assume thats a no.

No mention if the motor mount is at least aluminum. Realize for us m18 users that you wont be able to use the xray one nor any one that makes the 300 sit below the line of the chassis. (unless they have made this chassis extra thick with a bevel in it).

The powerpack comes with a 380. The class seems to be gathering around the 280 size.

They seem to be shooting themselves in the foot with the mention will fit 5-cells. Umm yea, other than the Mini-T, which is a separate class. What 4wd ST is using 5 cells? Also there goes any hope of having a standard cell layout. Because you then could use side by side packs across all trucks. Now with this layout, the cells will not last as long because of heat build up and the lack of the ability to individually discharge each.

The steering looks like it has a bell crank built into the upper deck. But can't see at this point if at least there will be a built in servo saver of some type.

Again, upper arms unadjustable. Would require new arms to be able to adjust camber if not caster. $$$$$.

No spur gear cover!!!! I got rocks in my spur all the time in my m18 on just a tennis court.

Where is the Front bumper???!!!!

I also hope they loosened the tolerance on the pivot balls in the supension. Because the m18s if any dirt got into them started making the suspension act funny/slow.

Gear diffs still mentioned. So.. with gear diffs and no slipper. And lets reasonably assume its the same final outdrive and gears as the m18. Where is the drive train shock absorption from jumps going to happen? Where is the ability to adjust traction/torque? I mean not having the ball diffs in the box (unlike the competition) wouldn't be a big deal if they had something in there that addressed these two issues.

Since the m18 gear diffs can go out quickly especially with higher torque and powerful motors. And assuming again same drive ratio and internal gears as the m18. Truck tires and that extra weight? Plus lands? Oh yea, gear sets are going to sell out quickly."

EDIT: these things have prolly changed since this post was made and its not the final specs I hope

Best to wait for some actual pics of the car before guessing what the spec will be and putting nails in the car's coffin...

Reality check......60mph, not unless it was being towed by something going that fast bub.

But....it is fast. Several mini trucks are doing over 30mph with that system.

J

they actually can go 60 mph, you just have to have the right set up, including 3 cell lithium polymer batteries and the 8000kv version, along with the right wheels and tires, chassis etc., gearing...and there you go youve reached 60...

Hello all,
Dose anyone have one of these yet...if so how do you like it compared to the Associated RC18T...I just orderd one....I like the M18....this looks pretty nice...only thing I'm not sure of is it looks like the upper a-arm is not adjustable...but we'll see how it goes..I'll let you know give you an update..hope their working on some cool upgrades...threaded shocks( I bet the rc18t's will work, cvd's,etc.) thinking of putting a front one-way in it..see how it dose.....just some good old experimenting....also Mamba....

I've had on for a couple of weeks. I love it. I beleive it handles, jumps and is of better build quality than the RC18T. Which I sold my Factory Team RC18T after buying the Xray.

The weak link of the M18T are the plastic CVDs. This is a must upgrade. Xray makes some very, nice alloy ones.

The M18T chassis layout and the M18 are very different. The nt18 follows the M18 layout for the suspension and gear boxes. So in short, no, you cannot.

Where are all the M18T/M18MT owners hiding? Lets post some pics of the best 1/18 electric on the market ;).

Here is my M18T/M18MT hybrid, it started out life as an M18MT but it resembles more an M18T with the MT wheles/tyres now.

Here's one (soon to be) I ordered mine today from Stormer and some Xray alum CVDs and a alum motor mount from Team Helotes. Can't wait!

After 2 years of constantly breaking 3 diff MQs and being disappointed, I bought a Vendetta about 2 months ago - no comparison! Then realized that Xray finally had its MT on the market - and a kit no less!

I have several diff power options I can go with - strong brushed Permax 450 using a novak XRS or BL option with either Mamba 5400 or GH 4700 behind Mamba 25 esc. I've got 6cell GP1100s or 1500 20C lipo 2cell or 3 cell. Decisions, decisions!!

The M18T/Mt comes with much longer shocks than the RC18T, so you could not without limiting your suspension travel. No reason to either, as not only are the stock shocks oil filled, a aluminum hard coated option version is offered as well.

The M18T/Mt versus the M18 have soo many differences, it would cost you half the price simply to purchase a M18T kit. :)

hey guys, i am about to join the m18t crew. i was seriously looking into buying an rc18t at first but then saw the m18t and have gone with that. now i need to make a decision between the m18t and the m18mt. what do you guys suggest? money is no problem( I will be buying the truck with the power pack pro)

The_Mini_Me

If your backyard bashing on or running on unprepared surfaces, the M18MT would work better.

If you plan on racing, running at dirt tracks, or racing in the steet, the M18T would fit.

hey guys what happened to the forum? i just got my m18t about 2 weeks ago and love it. The only bad thing is i snapped one of the driveshafts as they are plastic. But i have just ordered aluminium ones front and rear and every single xray hop-up there is except for the aluminium ball diffs. (i plan on making this thing indestructible). all the parts should arrive soon and i will post pics when installed. next on the list is a tekin brushless system.

Heeeellllllllllooooooooooo? Is anyone out there?:confused::wave:

HEHEHEHE

Well after selling my last M18T almost a year ago I got another one last week!:D

Having not run the last one this is like the 1st time all over again;)

This one has a 3Racing CF chassis, Atomic CVD's and Xray Alloy Shocks.
IPD R18 esc, 370 motor and a TP 2cell 1320mah lipo.
Xray 12mm hexes and Tamiya Mini Wheels/Tires :D

Going to be mostly a basher for my 5 year old daughter to learn with. So I'll probably make a 5 cell pack for it for when she wants to drive it.

Plan to go brushless sooner or later so I can have fun with it to!:D
And if they start a micro class here I would like to race it.
