what else would I need to make this engine work in a hammer?
Is there a better choice for an upgrade?

that's a lot of motor for a hammer. i was thinking something like a cen .18 would be good for it. personally, i wouldn't go above the .18 size motors. mine is flighty with a dynamite .15.

I agree with boatdoc, mine is also a handfull with a Dynamite .15s
A .18 will work without mods, but the .21 will take some work. I will also say that a Rossi .15 would be a better choice. Lots of RPM<<<<<
A .21 would be a waste I feel, there are much better and faster hulls to put a .21 in.

A good engine would be an .18 (if you are really power hungry) or an upgraded .15. A .21 uses a larger motor mount, so it would require significant mods to work.

If OS ever makes a marine version of the CV-RX .18 that would be awesome! That's what I'm waiting on.

Yes Burnz that would be nice. It would be affordable compared to some of the high ends. (ROSSI & PECCO) The Hammer is a nice little boat, but spending 300$ on a engine for it would be a waste I think.
I run mine all the time & am very happy with it. It comes back in & has not needed a rescue in a long time. Unlike some of my other vessels

You're running the Dynamite aren't you CF?
Yeah I love this little boat. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
So what's the word on the Mean Mach.'s. Heard anything else?

We've got a saying in this part of the woods about putting 10# of something into a 5# bag. All boats have their limits. If you want to drop a .21 motor into something, place it in a hull that it's made for. Maybe your ready to move up to a larger, faster boat. :)

Yep Ron just what I said. :D I could not agree more!

the only problem is bigger = bigger amounts of cash.
I would love 1/8 miss bud, but being 14... it's not in the budget ;) :D ...Any way are the .15 you mentioned like the dynamite one, worth the upgrade?

I'd upgrade before buying a 1/8th Miss Dudweiser. If you want a hydro, there are lots of better boats out there, or you could build one as the money is available, like Boatdoc and his 1/10th scale Atlas.

I'd never buy one.
A. too much money
B. couldn't justify that much money on a boat. Or any rc car
