OK so for christmas this year I asked my parents for a nitro car so they got me this smartech nitro car http://www.trendtimes.com/sk1sc4wdrega.html, it seemed to be a decent car to me, so on christmas morning i ran the engine for the first time with the wheels off the ground and stuff breaking it in. But like the throttle sevro jamed at a semi hi rpm, and me being a hardcore nubie, could figure out how to shut off the engine so the piston heated up and broke off the crank shaft, so i sent it in and got a new engine 2 weeks later (thank god for warenties) and broke in the engine. then i ran it for like 10-15 minutes and it drove like a champ, then i drove it the next day and it ran well for like 30 seconds and then died, and started acting funny, acting like it was running to rich, so i gave up for the day cuz i was already late for work, then today i warmed it up, adjusted the fuel needle a little and then drove it down the street at a mid to full throttle and before it even got to the end of the street it fried another piston. It looks like heat damage again. so i gotta know...
1. am I doing somehing wrong? is there like some important step that i am missing or does smartech's pistons suck?
3. Does anyone know what is causing this problem?
3. should i try to get another smartech engine (maybe leave an angry voice message and hope that they give me some sort of deal) or should I just buy a more mainstream brand like hpi or somthing?
3. maybe i should just stay out of the whole nitro game and save my wallet lol.
