everytime i go into a lhs, i impulse buy. i go in 3 days ago just to look around then i end up with a xray m18 kit. to complete it i need a motor, esc, battery and servo. i ordered a cheap motor, novak spy, and a servo online that night. this afternoon i go back to the lhs to buy a battery for it and end up buying a mamba setup and the battery. call home around 7 to see if the package came - no. i go back to the lhs to buy the servo from them instead and some paint. now mind you, i had no intentions on going brushless so with 8.75% tax i spent $300 on a 1/18th kit like it was a drug. this thing better be good, i'm a nitro guy. :)

Matt

P.S. Of course, then I'll have to order/buy the hopups for it...

I went to my lhs also last week just to pick up a $5 skid plate. Hmm...that rpm skid/wear plate looks nice...wait, theres a full set for $20. Oh, and look at those bulkhead braces for $8! Maybe I should get some more after run oil for $4. Okay, time to leave. Total bill- about $37 when all I needed was a $5 part :D

Just one more way that online shops can save you money. LOL

And nitrothugg I don't think you will be too happy with it. I tried to go back to electric after getting into nitro and it's just not right without the noise and smell and long run-times.
I sold it within a week of getting it. Just my personal experience.

You guys actually remember what you went for? I usually remember what i wanted after spending $50 and start crossing the curb to up the driveway at home.

Me- I've got it bad!

Right after I got my RC18T, I had to order a set of Titanium Turnbuckles, Aluminum dogbones, Epic Micro "Faster" motor, and spare ball cups. That's still not all I want for it!

i think you caught how i'm feeling today. i installed everything and now i'm having buyers remorse. not that i spent all that money - well that too, but i could have gotten a hot .12 engine for the upcoming spring, or a .21+ for my 9.5. i'm keeping it though, it is fast!

Yeah I got it bad too.Went to my LHS for a servo saver for my Maxx, left with 60 in steering upgrades and a brand new AE RC18T(this liitle guy is bananas though).Im not mad though because most lhs dont know how to sell or just dont care ,but this guy is a great salesman, and he has everything you need IN STOCK.If the wife wasn,t outside I would have gone broke

I just dumped $700 into my E Maxx! Yikes.
I bought half the parts at my LHS and mail-ordered half.
The LHS owner wouldn't even look at my E Maxx. Definite attitude.
Screw him-I won't be back there.

I easily put a $1,000+ into my HPI Nitro MT. And probably $500 into my RS4 3.

Its amazing how much you can put into these vehicles.

As long as the LHS has great customer service and reasonable prices I will try to by from them. Problem is that here we only have Hobbytown and they are more into that Warhammer stuff than anything else.

The bad part is that you never really outgrow this stuff either. After 21 years I still buy this stuff that I really don't know what for. Atleast with two boys, I have an excuse... "Buy Honey, these cars are for the boys not me!"

lol! every single one of my cars except for the first has been an impulse buy! i thought I was bad, now I know there are others... :)

Talk to the owner of the Hobbytown to see if he will be open to adding more r/c stuff so that you and your friends will shop there more. I work at the Hobbytown (part-time now) here in Wichita, and the owner is very open to what customers want. It's good business. So give it a shot and see what happens.

im bad too for christmas i got a s-maxx and thats what got me back in the hobby after a 6 year layoff then i got the mini-t and i just couldnt resist getting the mamba setup for my mini-t and then a reciever and then a servo and then i need to beef it up because its fast so pro ball diff ti turns and now i need lipos because other people are faster. then last week i bought a hotbodies buggy that i just had to have thanks RCZ for helping me pick that out its been a good buggy. Now i have to have a rc18t to race against the mini pretty soon my wife will find out what im spending and the sh_t will hit the fan. this is the most addictive hobby ive ever taken part in i just love it. ive easily spent 2k in a little less than three months. thank god my job pay me cash spiffs no money trail!!!!!!!
