Got another one for you guys. Whats better? First, tell which one is funnest. Second, tell which one will take the most cash.

Well, I don't have a nitro(yet), so I can't say what's more fun, I think the one that would bring the most cash is the more popular one at your track. IE, if you have 5 guys running electric and 20 running nitro, the nitro should pay more based on amount of cash the track brings in.

Actually I was refering to how much will it cost equipment wise?

Hell. That is still a helpful hint. I think there are actually more Nitro people right now.

I have Electric TCs as well as Nitro TCs. I can hardly compare the fun of both classes as both are so different.

The gas tracks I go are wide with lot's of speed - that's big fun. On the other hand the electric tracks I go are really small which is another challenge. So both are different but lot's of fun. During cold/wet winters electric is a MUST.

Moneywise I would say at top end both classes are equal in cash consumption. The cost for the complete equipped car itself will be similar for gas and electric. If you look at the cash req'd for batteries, motors, chargers, ... in electric racing you will be able to support a top end nitro car. On the low end for fun-driving electric will be cheaper.

For me electric racing is more fun and I have raced both but with nitro you spend alot of time tunning and tweeking on your engine to try and get it running and stay running right. With elec. just charge a batt and go once you have your car dialed for that track. and cost will be about they same. I think that half the fun of racing is wondering thru the pits and talking to the other races but with nitro there isn't any time for that all your offtrack time is spent wrenching.

Nitro brings this hobby as close to real racing as we can get. There are many variables to nitro racing which offer the maximum challange of the hobby. Just as in real racing, the car which is properly tuned and tweaked for that day of racing will be the car with the endurance advantage. You driving will also make the difference. In addition...the sound, the smell, the smoke trails, the endless run times to me make the choice obvious. GO NITRO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah one more thing look at the hPI challange in RCCA out of the 10 elec. that started the main only one did not finnish. out of the 10 nitro that started only five finnished and you always hear about the factory guys flamming out and not finnishing races also so if the "big boys" have trouble keeping a car running for a whole race I'm sure you will too. it's one thing to get beat by a better driver but it stinks to not be able to even finnish the race because your car won't run. GO ELECTRIC.
