Hey everyone! Have a couple friends with t-maxx gas trucks. And was discussing which was better, t-maxx or team associated gas trucks. Would post a poll but not sure how. Anyways I'm looking into getting a truck and was thinking team associated. I'm going to shop around. Well look forward to hearing everyones input. Thanks.

Welcome to RCZ Klaidice!

As for which is better, youre asking for a flame war :p pretty much everyone or some may opinionate what is better. Both are nice trucks and we all have our preferences. As for posting a poll, they have been disabled... too many "which is better" polls if you know what i mean... :)

Well for a New to Nitro Guy a T-Maxx or S-maxx would be a Great First Nitro...
Think about it...
You get a Fantasic truck and everything else you Need to Run exept Batterys and fuel..
You also get a DVD with all the Break in instructions and extra goodies....
By a MILE do yourself a Favour and get a T/S Maxx......

Let us Know On what you decide and Why.....
Clint...;)

You Cant say That with out giving at least ONE VALID reason.....

I dont even own a traxxas RC But I know a Few guys who do and they Love em and to tell the truth I've been into RC for a while now and think there a Great Truck and they also Have Fantastic Customer service....
do your Homework On each truck and weigh up the Pro's and cons...
Its a verry individual decision.....
Good Luck.....;) :D :)

Be very very careful of maxxes, espically the first or second editon maxxes. I had second editon, did not work that well, but after years of sitting in the dust i rebuilt it and i ditched the reverse! The reverse is bad very bad!

I like both the t-maxx and associated (not MGT though). I had a revo and its a pretty good truck. I also love team associated because after launching my rc12l3 off of 30 stairs and making do like 10 summersalts nothing broke....It was an accident, i was playing around and slammed full throttle by accident :o Anyhow...back on topic

Well c.j.oo, I didn't want to bash the maxx since many people are very happy with them, but here's why I don't recommend it-I have one of the originals, dont know if it's first or second edition, but there are some major weakness's that do not make this a good first time r/c.
1. PLASTIC output yokes. Get that thing stuck and apply throttle, you're gonna break a yoke. Those of you who've been into this awhile know better, but someone just starting out may not.
2. WEAK steering servo, sloppy steering. You can dial out most of the slop by shimming or foaming the ball cups, but there's nothing you can do about the servo unless you replace it. Maybe that's not a big deal to people who buy RTR's, but I was amazed Traxxas expected that servo to turn that front end.
3.(This is the one you're going to flame me on) The TRX 2.5 does not have enough power to push the truck to full speed OFFROAD. You people that have this motor and have run on anything less than a perfectly smooth surface know what I mean, even if you wont admit it. I converted mine because the stock .15 was pathetic, and while the 2.5 is better, it's still not enough for the weight of this thing.

There's more, but this is getting too long. Don't get me wrong cj, didnt want to start a war, but the guy asked, so.... :p

I just think there are better alternatives for a first timer, and you can't deny AE makes some killer rigs!

eb4flys has it! :D If you think these m.t's are cool, check out a nitro buggy!
