Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd post some pics of my HPI Savage. I've called it Project Sandblaster, because as you'll see, its setup to be used in the sand ;)
It was a stock Savage, with nothing but a Megatech airfilter, RTR tank and a 5 cell hump pack and failsafe.
It was bashed to within an inch of its life for about 6 months, then put away for a couple of months.
Its nothing too extreme, but its neat and VERY clean......each part of the vehicle has been disassembled, and cleaned in warm soapy water, sprayed with tire foam (to make it look new again), and then reassembled.
In the process, I found that the following needed replacement:
1x Lower hinge pins
2x Diff casings
2x sets Diff gears
1x Roll bar
1x Shock shafts
2x Shock springs
1x Spring retainer
1x clutch spring
1x engine!!
1x body shell
4x tyres
I ordered an SH .28 ($115 USD, bargain!), a MIP clutch, 4 spyder diff conversion, 40% stiffer springs, Hummer H2 shell, twin disc, Kimbrough servo saver, new tyres, new rims, all the parts that needed replacing, etc etc.
My friend painted the shell for me, and it still needs some stickering, and to have the windows cut out.
This is the end result, after 2 months of rebuilding it a bit at a time, in my (very limited) spare time.

Check out the power plant! I'm quite proud of my neat fuel line routing :D
