I've recently broken in my SS 25 kit, on one gallon of 20% fuel and this thing is impressing the hell out of me, but should this truck be able to pop wheelies? If yes, on what types of surfaces?
It'll flip itself like a turtle when cornering at speed. When the tax return comes I'm thinking 40 series rims with the bow tie treads, to help with cornering. Any other ideas? :)

Take off the preload spacers, use the softer .21 springs. So you know a setup that will corner well will most likely not want to wheely.

Im not saying that it cant be done but I havent ever wheelied my Savage 25. The suspension is just way to soft and long but you are correct when you say it will flip when high speed corning.

I have an SS as well. I can get the truck to wheelie but only it is not able to do so readily. It takes a really good tune to get the front wheels up.

I run the 15t CB and a pretty stiff sysp. setup and get wheelies all the time and good handling (for what I run on). I run no preload with the stock shocks/springs. I removed my springs and pulled them apart (pulled on them to make them longer) an extra 1.5 - 2". Stock tires suck for handling. I ran duct tape on the inside of the wheel to stiffen in up and remounted them on some offset wheels. Works very well for me.

I race the savage 25ss and mine does not know pop wheelies may be on the odd occassion but that is it i run on 16tooth clutch bell and 49 tooth spur gear also i have taken the pre loaded spacers out i run with no spacers on any of the shocks at all this lowers the truck all round about half inch which believe me it does make a difference to the handling of the truck. I can not say about the softer springs as i tried them and seem to make no difference to the truck so went back to the original 1;s which i use all the time and do not change whether racing on tarmac clay dirt or grass and find truck okay on these also try your slipper clutch as the savage does of a habit of the nut backing of all the time tighten it right up and then back it off no more than a quarter of a turn as it loosens it self of anyway and keep checking it after every time you have been out with it

I have a ported S-25 and it almost pops too many wheelies. If you want wheelies then port your motor according to the Jan RCCA article. I went with 165 degrees on the exhaust so I wouldn't have to modify the block. Also the measurements for the cut on the piston are wrong. Just cut it to open up the boost port at BDC. The cuts don't have to be exact. Mine wouldn't do wheelies until I ported it. I have to get a new body now b/c it keeps crushing the back of it and now it has ripped off. I also have holes in the roof from the wheelies. Savages RULE!!!!!!!!
