What does everyone think of this rear dual exhaust for the Tmaxx?

it's a POS.

Have you had experience with it?

This is a simple answer - anyone who knows anything about these engines doesn't need to have experience with that exhaust system to know that it's going to suck. It's a simple matter of physics.

Its an engine killer. Robs you of power and engine life. If you have it, pitch it. If you were thinking about getting it, don't. Just float over to the Traxxas forums and ask what they think...you should get the same feedback.

Kmot-
I had that pipe on my maxx for about a week, my experience was that it was harder to tune and keep tuned, and I think that was because of a lack of backpressure, and/or fuel pressure... I didnt like the sound too much either.

Old ginger, yeah, its hollow alright, it just has 2 stingers in one chamber = less pressure = lean engine. its a tough go.

It's the version made by Slimline, under their Hurricane Nitro label:

I do not have any tuning problems, seems the same to me. I love the fact it keeps all the spewy off the truck.

yeah, thats the same one I had. To each their own I guess, but I wouldnt reccomend it. You can buy an exhaust deflector for two bucks and get the same result. :D

It also has no scavenging angle - which is very important to the way a two stroke runs.

Well in regards to the dual exhaust at the top......the guy that manufactures them has been in R/C for over 20 years. He's been manufacturing exhausts for years now, not just for the tmaxx but for other types of RC's as well. At times he's been a consultant for some RC companies as well. He sells his items on a website and on ebay. I to didn't buy into his exhausts at first but he has a couple thousand feedbacks and I had emailed a couple of his buyers from a few months ago asking how they liked them and they all give praise on the exhausts. So I figure I'll try it out.

Not in my experience. I have used the deflector tubes and I still get quite a mess on the rear wheel and rear of the truck. I have several nitro's and I am used to the spewy but I tell ya it is nice to run a nitro and not have a huge mes to clean up afterward.

The Slimline is down on power compared to the Ritter Cycle Racing pipe I was using, but I do not need absolute power anyway so it is a nice compromise. It sounds plenty nice to my ears as well. ;)
