I have basically 2 choices for fuel.
Blue Thunder and Trinity
Right now I am using Blue Thunder in my 2.5, my mach .15 and the megatech m16.
I am getting the mach .26 soon in a new truck, and I wanted to know what fuel you guys recommended. The 2 kinds above are what my LHS carries, and I am not going to consider any other brand unless I can get it cheaper by ordering it..
Ok, that is a good question, where do you guys by your fuel.. do you order it or buy it at the LHS??
thanks,
adrian

Hi Adrian,I cant comment on the Trinity fuel because I have never used it.I can give you my opinion of the Blue Thunder.I have used it for many years and have had no problems.I use the sport mix at 20% nitro.I have used it in everything from an 1/8 scale buggy to my monster trucks.I mostly race, but I do bash some also.I think if you use Blue Thunder you will be happy with it.Later,Jeff

I have used both in my Savage and like trinity better. Both are good but BT leaves a blueish powdery residue everywhere and my Savage always ran hotter with it. It didn't wake up until it got over 250 and prob peaked around 280-290. This is with a ported S-25 and stock gearing. I judge the power by how easily it pops wheelies. With the trinity I had to richen the hsn 1/4 turn to get the same power and it runs best at around 250-260 and wakes up around 220. I didn't touch the needles when I switched to trinity and had a lean bog when accelerating. Hope this helps

Yeah, that helps.
What kind were you using?? race blend, monster brew?? what %??
just wondering.
I don't need some hopped up mixture for racing, just bashing, a little racing.
thanks

astainback, I would stick with whatever you are using. Why bother having different fuels for different cars. Blue thunder is a great fuel, it will be fine.

Well, I am not going to use different fuels for different cars.. I was going to start fresh with the LST and change over on the tmaxx and xxxnt.
That brings up another question.. is it safe, or does it cause damage to change fuels??

It doesn't hurt anything a bit to change fuels IMO. It's like filling up at a Exxon one day and the next tank going to BP. The fuels may have a little different ingredients but the major ones are the same. You will need to re-tune the engine though but it shouldn't take much. Just use whatever is available and run the mess out of it.

Hi i actually run on Odonnel 25% now use to use blue thunder but since i have been using the Odonnel it is alot cleaner fuel and also has improved the truck slightly all i had to do is tweak the top end on engine by the way we run and race savages but its up to you what you use what ever you decide to do if you change over you will have to retune your engines but only slightly

I use Blue Thunder in all of my cars. But I heard that the White lightning is supposed to be really good so i might give that a try.

I have used Top fuel, Sidewinder, Byrons and now today I bought Dynamite Blue Thunder. I haven't ever been able to tell much difference in any of them, but I do think the Top fuel worked well better in small blocks then big blocks. That's why I bought the Dynamite today, so I could switch over to it.
The LHS also had trinity 25% which I would of really liked to get but I know they wouldn't have any in stock next time I go to buy some.

Hi,
I have used:\
Traxxas 20% (good stuff!),
Blue thunder (I feel is less punchy than the traxxas stuff don't understand why seeing that they were both 20%)
Blue thunder 30% (seemed ok, I haven't used any other 30% stuff so I can't really say that it was good or not. I felt that my engine was somewhat flat)
Blue thunder 40% (Now this stuff was sweet!!!!! Definetly came from the devils kitchen for sure!. I can't say enough about this engine. But be warned when using this percentage you MUST make some changes to your engine in order to fully exploit this high methane fuel. I use 40% in all my big blocks and in a highly modified small block, and use blue thunder's 20% stuff in my other small blocks.)
Hope this helps
