I was recently at a St. Patricks Day Parade, and I thought it would be really cool to get 5 or 6 guys (or girls) together and have an R/C entry. You know, 5 or 6 cars or trucks running up and down the street as the drivers walk by. Possibly sponsored by a local hobby shop. Think of all the kids who would be telling mom and dad, " I WANT ONE OF THOSE". Has anyone else seen that, or tried to do it before?

That's the smartest thing I have heard all day. That would be awesome. Good idea. I do not think that anyone has done that yet.

My local track is working on things like this. Currently we have plans to run a little side-show jumping expo between wreck-up derbies at the county fair. We were going to try something with a parade as well. One specific idea, that anyone else is welcome to use, was to use a large MT (I have thought that an LST would work well because of it's low range) to pull a ramp on wheels with a plexi or plastic lip onto the ramp. Then the other trucks can jump the ramp, etc. This of course is the idea we've come up with as an offroad track - it may not necessarly apply to an onroad club, but I'm sure you can come up with some more interesting than just driving around in circles. Remember that highspeed runs are probly a bad idea because of limited space, and crowds including young kids. We all know how much a speeding R/C in the foot can hurt, and injuring a bystander won't help promote us.

thats a good idea, at our 4th of july parades, a local go cart place drives 5-6 go carts in circles and stuff in the parades and that is a big hit with the kids, im sure they would love rc cars(especially nitro) just as much:cool:

For the ramp pulling idea, you could consider using some type of electric crawler. They have lots of torque, long run times (some get an hour), and the rear wheel steering would be great if the ramp was really heavy.
