After looking at the participation over the last few contests, I've decided to change the schedule a bit. AirBoston has done an outstanding job, but I think a few tweeks to the schedule are in order. So, without further ado:
Apr- Best Paint:: Open.
May- Best Paint:: Tribute. Pay tribute to the artist/person that has inspired you the most.
Jun- Best Paint:: Open.
Jul- Best Paint:: Letters or Numbers
Aug- Concour d' Elegance:: Must be a concourse car.
Sep- Best Paint:: Open
Oct- Best Paint:: Halloween Inspired
Nov- Best Paint:: Open
Dec- Best Paint:: Open
Mods, please sticky this thread and un-sticky previous schedule.

For july I would also make it Letters, Numbers, and Punctuation. I can see my Riddler buggy now "Riddle me this, riddle me that---Batman---Awww Foiled again" :)

Explanation of restrictions:
May-This comp is to pay tribute to a person or persons who've inspired you the most. This tribute can be to a parent, sibling, fellow painter, artist, hero, etc. The tribute can be done in a variety of fashions from protraits to using techniques or graphics commonly used by those who inspire. It's the chance to show appreciation and dedicate something to those who've given you so much.
Jul-Body must have painted numbers, lettering, and/or punctuation on the body. Major punctuation marks may be used if they are the predominate graphic. Small punctuation marks such as the comma, period, colon, semi-colon, equals and plus signs, slashes, hyphen, underline, and similar marks do not count. There are no restrictions as to what body may be used so long as they include a painted number or lettering on them. Decals using numbers and/or lettering do not qualify for the restriction.
Aug-Concour d' Elegance-Must be a concourse body. No restrictions on the type of body. Judging will be based upon previous competitions.
Oct-Halloween inspired paint jobs only. This is the month to be creative and show off the spooky graphics.

Piggy, if you're taking suggestions for ideas on contests, how about a contest where the theme is "Your Favorite Video Game"? Like Halo 2, Paper Mario (kidding! Or not!), Gran Turismo 4, etc. Just an idea!

Excellent revision Piggy! I like the fact that there are less restictions, because really people want to paint whatever they want. I also talked to AirBoston about reducing the number of Concourse comps, I think that we might have been able to do with one more, but I think that mabye just having the one will bring in more ultra detail entries. Now to start painting for April!

You could also do the July one with a 4th of July/Canada Day theme. For December, what about a christmas theme? Good luck Piggy!

Tadium, who's to say we won't have a spontaneous contest in July with a 4th of July/Canada Day or that I won't suddenly throw in a twist saying you get extra points for doing up something with the aforementioned? ;)
I don't think we'll try the winter theme again, but you never know. Last time we did, we had such a low turnout of participation that made it possible for my hack skills to win.

You don't want a winter theme again because your still remembered as the guy who killed Santa Claus.................. My kid is still in councelling after that one.....lol

I actually like that idea. There are a lot of Gran Turismo paint jobs that would look good on a RC car. Not to mention Need For Speed, Midnight Club, and Forza (when it gets released).

Cosmo and Matt, great idea. I've been bouncing that idea around in my head for a while. I'm leaning more towards doing this theme as a shorty contest as opposed to a monthly comp. Reason being, I don't remember seeing any ST's in GT4, NFS, Midnight Club, etc, and I don't want to leave out the off-road crowd.
If you have differing thougts on this, please post.

Well, there are plenty of off-road games as well.
But, I don't think it has to be limited to painting it up to match a paint job in a game. I think being "inspired" by a game would work too. One example that comes to mind is the Mini T that looks like the truck from Halo 2.

Hmmmm...very good point. I have an idea that will put your ideas into action. Upon completion of this months comp, something will be posted.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments. If you have more, feel free to post.

Hi Piggy,
Are we (collectively) adding to or revising this schedule? Just curious.:)

We can revise the as needed. Collectively, we're providing ideas for various contests. I'm looking add a few of these suggestions into upcoming contests. Discussion is still open for what people want. Problem is, only a few folks have added ideas, and even fewer have come close to seconding any of the suggestions.

Piggy,
Excuse the rather self-serving question, but are we going to have another Concours D'Elegance comp this month or the next? Oh, and don't forget about the "Concours D'Country Gentleman" suggestion or the "Beater" class :D

Mike, I figured we'd do a Detailed Body contest ever three or four months. I don't foresee another concourse competition this year because I want to keep the contest participation going strongly. After a few months of going strong, I think we'll be able to focus a bit more into adding Detailed Body contests (sorry, not too keen on the Concours D'Elegance name).
Our first concourse competition will be Redneck inspired.

As long as we can have two a year, I'm happy. My vote is to have one in the spring, and one in the summer next year. It's going to start getting cold here so I won't be painting a thing :), but man, it would be nice to have another concours event, but I do understand. I mean, what's the point, mikevillena is going to run away with it anyway :)
