Geez! Ask which is better, apples or oranges and you get people yelling about grapefruit. How about a real, honest opinion?
I own a Savage. I bought the SS kit (earlier version with the S-25 in it). I love my truck and have put a bit of money into it. My baby bro bought a Revo just after x-mas. I'm quite impressed with it. It's far more durable than its predecessor, the T-Maxx.
If I was buying my first nitro monster truck right now, I probably would buy the Revo. The main reason for that is that everyone at my LHS probably has "Traxxas" tattooed on their butts. They sell very few parts for HPI vehicles and one entire wall of the store is filled with nothing but every part that Traxxas makes. They also have a few glass-enclosed cabinets of hop-ups for the Revo and Maxx trucks. LHS support can be a big factor in deciding on what to buy. Say you're out bashing or at the track and something breaks. If it's anything more than a spur gear, I'm SOL with my Savage, but my baby bro can take a quick trip to the LHS and get whatever he needs for his Revo.
Thankfully, I rarely have to replace anything on my truck other than basic wearable parts, so when something is about due to be replaced, I buy it online ahead of time. Like I said, I love my Savage. If I were to buy a Revo, I'd replace the radio, but that's only because I don't like the feel of the stock one and it doesn't have features that I like to use.

I have both the sav and revo. I absolutley love them both! I think that these are the only 2 vehicles that I should keep (I have a tone of r/c's). I will say that the sav is much more durable than the revo. You can't go wrong with either...
I had a Savages once.Had T-Maxxs too.Traded them all off and Hopped up a ThunderQuake!Local track closed because the owner,s where fake.Now I have an E to the Maxx I make. Sorry I could not help myself. Get ether one there all about the same. You ether have the skill and knowledge to make them better,stronger,faster or you don,t.

i can go on and on about this... it's all about what YOU think. though personally I'd have to go with the savage just because I like running my truck for more then 5 minutes at a time ;)

My vote is for the grapefruit i.e. TNX.
If you plan on racing REVO or TNX.
If racing and bashing TNX.
If strictly bashing the Savage is very good but the TNX isn't far behind.
