I've had this brush for a few years with little trouble sprays fine lines and covers large areas the main thing is to keep the brush clean. most problems can be traced back to having dried paint in the tip. or what is called sludge, that happens when you switch between water base paint and laquer paint the two combine to form gel like sludge that is very difficult to clean. did I mention clean your air brush throughly.

I've had one for years, and I noticed after a lay-off, paint was loading up in the body after I used it, so I had to completely disassemble it to make me happy that it was clean. It may just be worn, I don't know.
For about the same price at most places, you can get an Iwata Revolution, which I have only heard raves about, so that route might be better.

It's all a matter of preference. I've heard nothing but good things about the VL's. They work just as well as Iwata's. Both are very good quality brushes. The only difference I think you'll find is how well they fit your hand and what options you like using. Only you can make that choice.
Both will work for detail, but gravity feed brushes atomize better at lower PSI then bottom feed brushes, which is great for detail.
I would pick one that you have easy access to and a good parts availibility for.
