Hey folks its me again. I'm currently wondering whats up with the latest bl controllers. I have a B4 with a lehner 5300 thats been sitting on the shelf for awhile. I have been waiting for a decent controller since my old hacker tanked on me.

I know the u force is out, and I have heard only good things about it. But man, is it expensive or what?

Basically I'm just looking to see if there are any decent new controllers out that could handle my 5300 on 6-10 cells, strongly preferable that they are under $200.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would obviously sugest the mgm controllers but whilst people are still reporting it braking when coming down from full to partial throttle i cant.

The new hacker controllers are very good i had the old master car sport and that was well er s hit when i bought this new mater-b car comp controller i was drewling at the amount of power it could genrerate with a c40 8s. It cant handle more than 8 cells or 3s lipo. I only paid about Ģ123 for mine on ebay.

I wouldnt recomend the mtroniks genesis sport as that motor would be too much for it in my opinion.

The U-Force 75 costs the most but works the best...
Every cheaper controller has flaws or problems compared to the U-Force.
For now I don't think there are any other controllers that compare, I recommend you spend the extra on the U-Force or wait for the Castle Creations Mamba Maxx controller.(hopefully only another 2 months or so...)

Cheapest would be MGM 8012, but like chilledoutuk said, the braking thing is a bit weird, but I think it's only a problem if you're racing. If you're bashing it may be a bit more bearable. The only other one I can think of that can handle the lehner 5300 (although it's cutting it close) is the warrior 7018. With that speedo you're gonna need a fan on it or to do a heatsink mod probably though.:)

I agree 100% with TheSteve. Thereīs only one controller for 10th scale, U-Force 75. Thatīs it end of story.

On a side note, I tested the UF for the first time with a brushed Reedy Kr 12 turn a couple of days ago (not my motor heaven forbid) in my Yokomo CGM, and it performed perfect. I didnīt test different esc-setups though (I had it on 60A), I just confirmed that the UF once again still impresses me.

That test went so well so Iīm wireing up the UF in my Kyosho Half8 buggy as I write now to test it out with 8 and 10 GP1100 cells on the standard brushed motor. I will prob. kill the motor on 10 cells but itīs like a 10 dollar motor so itīs doesnīt matter that much. The driveline doesnīt look like it can take much power, especially the diffs, so I will test the car first to see how it handles power. Then see what bl motor goes in there.

I will let you know. Sorry for getting out of topic.

Save up and get the UF K_sw31. It has such a wide range of use. Heck, it has a boat mode also.... :) !

Yes the u-force does seem to be the best developed brushless controller in the world at the moment just a shame its so expensive.

How much shuold we expect to pay for this new cc controller when its released?

Where could I get the mgm controllers?

I suppose the u force is the way to go. Its just a matter of saving up I guess. I don't feel like a bank account blowout just yet. :p

Hasnt a new hacker controller been in the works? Or an update of their master car controller. My hacker was pretty decent, its just the costumer service that has really drawn me away.

You know you will be in this hobby for a long time ahead. See the esc as an investment for the future. Just like brushless/brushed motors, high quality radiogear (transmitter, servos, receivers)/standard low priced ones and so on.

Schulze U-Force 75 ESC

Go ahead and add $80 to that $200 budget to buy the finest 1/10th scale ESC made in the world! You will be glad you did!

Maybe there's a better thread to post this, but since it was mentioned...

I talked to Hacker USA last week and it soulds to me like they have given up on a new car controller, or at least they have no idea when something might happen. They say the new controller available from Hacker (Germany) is not good enough and should not be on the market.

Either that or Hacker USA is too lazy to do something with it, or they just don't want to sell any more car controllers and deal with the warranty issues.

I guess I will contact Hacker in Germany and see about exchanging my old CarSport for the new 8 cell...

MrC or anyone in Germany hear something different?

LOL thats funny so acording to them the new controller is not good enough but the old master controllers were.
The problem is more likely that they cant get them as cheap as they want to compete with the other systems being sold in the us.
I have an old master car sport and the new master-b comp and the differance in power is astonishing. The controller is small and strong with a casing milled from a single piece of aluminium. When acelerating It generates initial torque like the novak but continues this torque throughout the rpm range.

I will acknowledge that because of the amount of torque the controller generates in my c408s driving can be a a little difficult but with the programmer box you can adjust the aceleration of the controller amonst many other parameters of the controller auch as throttle curve.

So you have the new 8 cell Hacker?

What they say about the new one is that they want it to be better before they "accept" it and offer it to the U.S. market. First it was the software that "needed work" and then it was the construction quality or something or other....

So, where can I get the new controller and will Hacker (Germany) offer to replace a defective master sport with whatever the heck is available right now? I don't care if it's only the 8 cell... that's better than the nothing I have now.

I saw the specs in aircraft-world and is smaller that a U-force. The sell them for $250+.

glassdoc, send the controller in. I sent a broken Master Car Comp(12 cell) and got a brand new Master Car Race(8 cell) back. :) They said it was cheaper to replace my old one with a new one than to repair it and since it was still under warranty I got it for free, the only cost being I had to pay for the cost of the shipping to Germany and back.

Be prepared for the 4 month wait though. :(

Currently I'm having problems with it. :(

Has anyone tried the new Hacker controllers? They have 90amp continuous, smaller that a U-force 75 and looks like it have an on/off switch, only downside is they can only handle upto 8 cells.

Yes i have one i bought it a while ago off somone on ebay. It generates tons of torque i will eventually record a video of it in action with my c408s at some point but today im testing the genesis sport again with the updated software.

What about the new BL system from LRP and Reedy? I'm looking to step-up to Brushless and was woundring if anyone had any ideas for a good setup for my Evader ST.

I use the U-Force/Extreme combo in my Evader ST.

What is the best motor to go with the U-Force and how much more runtime, if any, do you get with these setups? I have brushless motors for my planes but what normally happens is you put more voltage into them so they go much faster but runtime is either shorter or the same.

chilledout, have you got the race or comp?

I got the problem with my master car race fixed up, the guy at the shop thinks it's just overgeared.

chilledoutuk

I have the comp but its been demoted at the moment by the mtroniks genesis sport.
Im thinking of getting a higher kv motor for the master-b car comp as it can only do upto 8 cells.
The mtroniks is smoother and much easier to drive but im not sure if thats not just more to do with the master-b comp genrating tons of torqe.

I have 3 sensorless controllers now and only one sensorless motor. Me thinks time to buy some motors soon.
