My u-force 75 used to allow me to arm it by hitting the reverse after it booted up. Now it arms automatically. is there any reason for this?

I do have a second question while were talking about esc's. Does the mgm 80 have reverse?

Did you flip the #1 toggle switch? It has to do with recognizing the radio and storing the settings so it doesnt have to do it everytime.

Thanks for the suggestion Timistim. I'll definetly look into that. I figured that there was a reason why it stopped allowing me to arm it.

The U-Force will arm after the power up tone (as indicated by the single "beep") as soon as it "sees" a valid signal. By default it calculates the neutral, brake point and full throttle point - if you had to hit a touch of brakes to get it to arm then the neutral point of the radio is not correct as it wasn't within the parameters used to detect neutral.

Do *NOT* flip dip number 1 !!!(sorry TimisTim) DIP number 1 is used to determine if you're using a Neodym or Ferrit magnet based motor. Unless you have some awfully rare motor DIP #1 should always be off as 99% of brushless motors are Neodym based.
The DIP to set endpoints is number 2. If you turn it on you can then program endpoints(check your manual!)

Thanks for the clarification Steve. Well I thought I set my end points correctly when I first got it. I really didnt think I would ever have to set it again. Thats why I was just clueless as to what was going on with it. I'll check it out when I get home.

Any chance your throttle trim was bumped/moved just a little?

yeah. All the time! Im still using an Am Radio (dont laugh) and Im always messing with the settings because I do run a tc3 and a t3 with it. I was a really fresh newbie back when I got my u-force in November so at the time, It was like "I guess I got it right" and never looked back at it. I will be making the upgrade to a digital fm radio with model memory soon so that may help out better.

Ahh, well if you did use DIP #2 to program endpoints and then the throttle trim has been moved that would explain the problem. The U-Force is always expecting the same neutral point as when it was programmed. You can adjust the trim so it arms like its normally supposed to, or if you like having to hit a touch of brakes adjust the trim for that. Just be sure not to go too far or the car may want to run when at the neutral point.

Oops sorry I was wrong! Yeah it is the #2 switch, it has been a while since I had to mess with my switches. Good catch guys! Yeah now that I think of it it does sound like an endpoint adjustment problem.
