View Full Version : U-Force 75 with Kokam 3s 3200 20C ?
Just recieved my U-Force 75 with U-Link, a kontronik twist4200 and Kokam 3s 3200mah 11.4v (20C discharge 64amps continuous). The Schultz is one expensive piece of equipment, but worth it! I'm gonna have a sleepless night just thinking about this setup on an open track!!
I am planning to use it on a Tamiya TRF TB EvoIv 1/10 sedan. What is worrying me is that the amps on this battery is already rated high to start off. I was wondering if simple dean connecters would just do? Or is it recommended to use 3.5mm gold connectors all around?
Any help is appreciated.

Dean are the way to go I think when connecting the batteries to your controller. 3.5 gold connectors are only for the motor to the controller. I tried 10 cells on the weekend using dean with no problem.

Deans for sure (batteries). I use 4mm gold connectors just because they have lower resistance and can handle more amps. But the Lehner 4200 uses 3.5mm connectors, so you have to use those unless you want to change them...

Hey, I have the exact same setup - 20C Kokam 3200 3s, Twist 42, and U Force 75. This is a great combo and it won't overheat either. VERY fast acceleration and good top speed. I use Deans and there is no problem.
Hey thanks to all you guys! My worries are over, I will use dean's then. The only exception will be the connectors between the motor and speed controller with 3.5mm gold.
Hey OptimaMan, nice setup you have! How much runtime do you get with this setup? Also what is your most effecient FDR? By the way, I love how the kontronik looks, it's one mean motor... with the chrome all around and built in fins :D
I've already ordered a pair of Kokams 20c 3200 2s packs so I can connect together and make it 4s. Any advice or tips that I should follow?

Depends on gearing! The smaller the pinion, the longer the run time. Geared for only 30 mph (my indoor track), I get 20-30 minutes of racing!!! It's no chrome - it's machined aluminum - looks even cooler than the C40 hackers and it's a tad shorter too. There is a theoretical most efficient amperage that you can pull up using motocalc, but those numbers mean nothing for an RC car since you're using anywhere from 1 to 100 amps during a race. That motor, if geared incorrectly, will pull 100 amps with that battery!!!! (short burst)
