I got a friend who picked up a 5300 and needs to know in what order to connect the esc to the motor. I am assuming that you can fry an esc if you hook it up wrong. The a,b, c is clearly marked on the esc but what about the motor. Can someone guide me in the right direction. Thanks

Actually, it doesn't matter. You can start by taking the controller's middle wire and hooking it up to the motor's middle wire. You can move the outer 2 wires around, and get them in the right combination so that the motor will spin in the correct direction. If the motor doesn't spin in the correct direction, reverse the 2 outer wires and it will work.

ok cool. I think that answers my question. I was pretty sure that the outer wires determine which way the motor spins but really wasnt sure. I guess thats with all bl motors then. Thanks Tcolesen

tcolsen was right it does not matter at all just conect the three wires and if it spins the wrong direction then interchange any pair.
