Hey all, I have a 5800 brushless setup that I have had for about a month. I have only had time to run it once besided today. The first time it ran great. Today when I went to the track I could barely hit the throttle and it would go WOT for just a split second. It was kinda like a glitch. When I hit the breaks and let off it would click the gas even when I didn't hit the gas. I had my antannea ran on the inside of the body so I thought it might be glitching or maybe out of range. I put a new antannea tube on it and ran it straight up. Then ran it with the body off and it still did it. I changed frequencies and still didnt change it. I was told by one of the other electric racers that I may need to reset it. Could this possibly be it?? It didn't do it just far off, even when I was up close.

besides reseting the ESC, you should make sure the wires are not frayed or damaged. also try running through all the settings on the ESC. you could trying changing transmiters and receivers all together, if you have a spare, if not try to borrow a buddys. good luck.

The easiest thing to do at this point is reset it and reprogram it. If that doesn't work, I'd just send it in for warranty work. I've heard that Novak's service is top-notch.

The remote and receiver are both new, raced 1 time. It's a JR XS3 Pro with the synthesized receiver. I have changed channels to no avail. I raced it about a month and a half ago and then put it up. My daughter has soccer games every Saturday so that limits the playing..lol But when I got it out this past weekend, it acted kinda screwy. The last time I ran it it had no problems. Thanks for the opinions and options...

Hi Guys,
You can also try "Turning" the ESC in the car 90deg. Sometimes the location of the ESC will effect things. Also new doesn't rule a problem. So it wouldn't hurt to do a little more testing on the Radio isde of things. Servos can effect this sort of thing as well too.
Thanks

Hey guys, think I got it figured out today. Went there and reset all the settings again and it still done the same thing. I went back and ran my antannea outside the body and then changed the gearing down 1 tooth and seems all is fine with that problem. The ESC was really hot to touch after about 3-5 minutes. After changing the gearing, I ran it for about 8-9 more minutes and then it shut off for about 15-20 seconds. So I went down to a 14 tooth pinion and had no problems. The 14 was the only other thing I had in my box. Recommended pinion for my xxx-t was 17-18. The 18 ran for about 2-3 minutes and the 17 for about 8-9 minutes before overheating. So I think now I can work up from the 14 to 15 and possibly 16. Anyway thanks for everyone's help..Steve

The novak esc heatsink works really well with a fan i gurantee with a half decent 40mm fan you wont get any overheating issues.

well on my supersport i run a 40mm fan i took out of my network switch its extremely powerful at 12v and at 5v it still pushes a lot of air. its about 2cm deep but i suspect that any high cfm 40mm 5v fan should be fine.

i would just get something thats around 15 cfpm that should do just fine. Also make sure to keep the heat sinks clean. dirt is an insulater.

Thats really odd. I run mine for 20 minutes at a time on a 17 pinion without thermalling, and im running in grass and dirt. I only run a fan during the dead heat of summer as it takes away some punch.

On what car? What's your final gear ratio?
