what happened with the new track Scott proposed out by Chicgoland speedway?
They own the land, so that's the biggest step. Now they just have some more rather large steps to take, like building the tracks.
Mid-summer is an optimistic guess for their opening, but they might surprise us all and be ready a lot sooner than that.

I raced with Bernie , Matt, and Mike Lyday at Hardestys Sunday. They are shooting for an opening date around the Fourth. The City of Joliet is very strict when enforcing their building codes. Getting all the necessary permits is time-consuming. This is a VERY big, high-end project and we as racers will greatly benefit with the end result. This will be one of the best R/C facilities in the country. Due in part to strict city codes and the Leisure crews desire to have nothing but the best! Have patience, it'll be worth it! With Route66 as neighbors, high standards have been set!

I've seen the blueprints and talked to Bernie about the new track and all I got to say is WOW! everything is very well thought out... from the 50 foot long drivers stand to the layout and locations of the on road and off road tracks to the indoor pit area and track. It will truly impressive once it completed.

They are planning a steamroom and sauna, with towel service, and a masseuse for when you have those longs days at the track and want to relax afterwards.

No, it's true. I also heard that the masseuses will be using a formulation of Losi 32wt, and an AE 30wt oil for the massage therapy oil.

Does anyone have any news on Leisure Hours?? I am finally getting a 1/8 scale buggy to run there instead of my RC10GT an I am beginning to have racing withdrawals. The shop page stopped updating their forum too... does that mean they are close??

You just linked me to the shop forum... I said that they were no longer updating it as you can see the last post with construction pictures on September 2nd. Before now it was every other day or so. That's why I thought they may be close and didn't want to give anything away...

I think you can use a phone and call their SHOP for any information, you can't expect them to update every thing on the forum while they are still working on the construction.................
Can't wait to run on their world class on-road track.

I called the shop and they said that they didn't know how it was going and they didn't have a date of opening. And also... I wasn't ecpecting an update every second but why would they post updates every day or two throughout construction and then randomly stop?? That's why I asked here and figured they may be close... Last time I ask here for anything...

I got ahold of bernie through the other forum and I guess he is there just about every day working. He could use help so if you have time head out and give him a hand.
And thanks for that site camaro... I met a bunch of new bash buddies and will probably be racing this sunday.
