Here's my progress on my brushless hyper 7 buggy. I built my motor mount tonight. Lots of sawing dremeling, more sawing, filing, sanding..... I still have to drill a couple of holes in the base to bolt it down to the chassis.

You did that by hand? Very impressive. What tools did you use? Was it based off a CAD template?

Keep it up!

Very nicely made...

Thanks all. I just took all the measurements and layed it out on a piece of paper. Then, I drawed it on the aluminum angle with a fine tip sharpie and started drilling/cutting. The tools I used to make it were a band saw, stationary belt sander, scroll saw, dremel with a drill press stand, hand drill, file, and a scotch brite pad to clean it up. I could make some more, but the time I have to invest in each one is substantial. I probably spent at least three hours on it.

Very nice! 3 hours by hand doesn't sound too bad for such a nice piece. Did you just eyeball that for the drawing? What did you use for battery trays?

Thanks. I had in my mind how I wanted it to be, so I just measured and sketched what I wanted. Then, I drew it to scale using a metric square to keep it all straight on the actual piece I cut. The battery holders are from the Kyosho Twin Force monster truck. I have to build some supports and mount them still. They are just laying there right now.

That is sweet. Very nice work. They need to make a class for this.
