I've always liked OFNA's Hyper-series buggies, and I'm glad to see a kit version; even though OFNA says it's RTR radio gear is essentially "free," it always bugs me to remove included radio gear so I can install scale-appropriate stuff. Plus, I just like to build my own.

You asked for it, and now you got it! OFNA's widely popular Hyper 7 RTR high performance buggy is now offered in a 'kit' form: the Hyper TQ Sport. Assemble the kit yourself and pick your own engine and radio gear. The Hyper 7 TQ Sport comes with everything you want, and nothing else.

I wouldnt have believed it, unless i read about it three months ago, and saw in stock at acehardware. thank god for RCCA, my current information lifeline.

After seeing a bunch of stuff listed as "new" at the OFNA site, then discovering none of it was here, I decided to post a bunch of it. I'm so very sorry that I didn't check to see how old it was, and that I wasted the precious seconds it took you to click this link.

I'm not usually into sarcasm, but hey, you started it. :)

^^^ LMAO
From what I've seen so far this is quite a nice buggy, especially for the price. Definately not up to a Kyosho or Mugen kit...but not up to their price level either. This is a great setup for someone looking for a solid entry level buggy kit.
Me thinks it a great opportunity for a cheap but brand new truggy. TQ kit for $239 at ACE, JT truggy kit for $135. Sell the buggy tires, body, shock towers, front shocks for say about $100 bucks. Then buy center CVD's and rear CVD's, and rear shocks for the front, and you are looking at a spanking brand new truggy based off one of the best buggies out there for. Of course I had this idea three months ago when it was in the magazines! Kidding, kidding, just kidding. Anyway, I think I may do this for my yet unbuilt truggy.

Ah, I remember the days when manufacturers sent advance notices to the major media players in the industry so that guys like Peter and Steve didn't have to prowl the internet for information. It's not as if those two visit Ofna.com on a daily basis with anxious anticipation for new goodies. I'm pretty sure that they have other jobs to do.
MTA4, it might be a good idea to consider stopping the sarcastic comments while you are still ahead. Better yet, when something new is announced, featured or otherwise posted on the Ofna web site, why don't you let Peter and Steve know about it? That would free up some of their online time so that they can keep this board running smooth and friendly to its members.
Kitty,
Forums are for fun too. That is what the word kidding is all about. Check out websters.
thats nice that there is a kit version of this out. 1/8 scale gas racing is pretty big here, may have to take the plung in some form next year and wouldn't mind a Kit to start with.
How good are Ofna's instructions?

ok i just got this thing a few days ago i haven got it all together yet but just a hint when ou buy it buy shock oil and diff lock cuz the stuff that comes in the boxs looks pretty crappy.
the instructions are very simple and to the point
i would highly recomend this buggy i know that im going to have hours of enjoyment with it at the track. o and the best thing about getting a kit over a RTR is you get better parts as in higher quality this buggy is solid and i plan on some trophies in my futer.

I just picked up another LX Comp for this season. I like them. Dont really have the budget for an Inferno, Mugen or Xray, but the Comp is fairly well built and it gets me out there.
Kind of off subject, but I just noticed these for the Comp

So is this the best handling of the OFNA buggies or is there a different one? They have some many that its kind of hard to know which is the better buy.
I am thinking of trying gas racing, probably next year but keeping my options open and it seems 1/8 scale buggy is the biggest class other than the truggies.
