A friend of mine has gotten permission to build a track on a large tract of family owned land in the triad area and we had discussed the idea of a dirt oval since there is nothing like that in this area. We are local off-road racers and do not want to take away from the numerous off-road facilities around the state. We are looking for input as to what classes to have, track size, rules, sactioning bodies an such. We are not going to rush into this. We want to build a great track that the local races want. Please post any suggestions and ideas as we are only in the initial planning phases. Thank You

what part of the triad are you talkin? wilson's way to far for us triad guys. i'd say check out some dirt oval sites an get ideas from them. but nitro IS pretty popular around here. 'specially trucks. maybe you can accommidate some 1/8th buggy/truggy outlaw...monster outlaw...production monster...1/10 nitro truck...and the usual host of electric EDM, sprint, and wedges.

Nitro Valley in Cherryville, NC just opened they're dirt oval and I think the Overcash track near Salisbury, NC is going to re-open they're dirt track with all those cars coming out from Tony Stewart's company.

The land we have to build on is near Winston Salem. I was thinking of a 275' to 300' D-shaped oval with moderately banked corners. As far as classes it will most likely be EDM, Sprint and Stadium Truck in both gas and electric and then gas an electric late model that will allow TC's and of course a Novice class.Electric would also be split into stock and mod. But I would run any class as long as it has 3 entries. Our only real obstale is affording a scoring system since we have land with plenty of room and equiment on the property to do the construction with. Wow now all I need is about $2300 and I all set lol. Thanks for all of your help keep any ideas rolling in

Sounds like a big oval. There is an AMB-RC system and Autoscore for sale at $2200 with the PC included.

Sounds like ya'll may have a good thing going. I've been running sprints in Wilson and for the last couple of weeks there's only been me there and it's getting old. NE ways the EDM's and Late modles dont seem to be that big but gas truck and sprints were the cars to run this year at least at Wilson it was. I'd luv to see a track close to home couse the 1 1/2 hour drive is killing me in gas. ?? Don you selling your lap counting system??

i hope we get that dirt oval soon! heck i still got some late model parts from 1992! i think they're the front and rear bulkheads. never did buy another chassis for them. in late 95 i told myself i should throw that stuff away....here 10 years later i'm still holding on to them.LOL.

hmm did the dirt track die??? I'm still interrested in the dirt oval. My nitro sprint hasnt seen any action in a while other then the once in a blue moon blast up and down the drive way.
