I bought a new hull off a guy who builds them and posts them on ebay. Really good price and looks great, but I really don't know much about performance yet so I am asking if anyone else knows about these hulls and their performance. The guys name is Vern Kilmer: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5958280676
says he has been building for a while now. I am very pleased with his work for the price, but it's not as good as WHH hulls. The differences are minor though. I think. Anyways, anyone have info on these hulls?

move all from 57 magnum till i get another setup. Looking at MHZ L or Z drive for starters the rest will be the same as the magnum is now.

Vern's hulls are pretty good quality for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't get too carried away with the hardware. The 48" challenger - style hull runs best with a simple drive setup like the Octura strudder, or a Speedmaster setup. Check out some of these pictures....

You do not need a double rudder setup from the Magnum, and the z-drives will be a waste of mone.

why would the z-drives be a waste of money? I was thinking of running them on my new 48" apache styled hull.

I just want the simplicity of an all in one drive. The drive is the rudder also and it looks good! :D More realistic. If its water tight then less grease used on the flex shaft which will be totally inside the boat away from the water.Hopefully. I know very little about them so it will be a learning experience.
They look very professional.

I welcome any negative comments to warn me of any bad side of them.

You can just get all Aeromarine hardware for it since its an AM splash of the Challenger anyway. I have a few pics of my old one setup if you need them. My buddy bought one of Vern's hulls last season and I was real impressed with the paint job for the price he was asking.

Thats what I thought of them too. Mine got to me with a minor crack in the bottom though, but thats delivery for ya. I'm not planning to make a second boat I am going to move everything over from the Magnum.
The Z drive was just a "wish list" item.
