Well it took long enough but ran them both today. The hammer ran fine on the new motor ran 2 tanks tru. But it was cavitating in the corners. Other than that it ran fine. It also seemed to ride higher and lean in the turns more.
Now the new boat 31" with k&b 7.5 got it running good on shore but when I
put it in the water it would go about 20 feet an die many times
had the high speed needle out 2 3/4 turns. It would idle and rev great on shore, not sure what the problem is. Help !!!! sorry no pics forgot the camera
will not forget next time.

I ran mine also .I ran it in a small pond ,so I could get it easy if I had trouble .I ran three tanks and it ran great .I replaced my 16 with an 18 and a macs pipe .I did get a chance to open it up for a few seconds .The new engine has alot of power .It cavitates when I hit wot from a slow walk .

Yes it does!!!.You can pretty much replace any 12-18 engine I think .I have put a 16 in where I had a 12 in one of my trucks also.

Try the K&B a little richer at around 3-1/2 turns out, possibly more depending on weather conditions.

I tried it at 3 1/2 and could not keep it running when I pulled off the glow plug
clip.

Stalling as you described sounds to lean, & stalling after you pull the glow warmer is too rich. You need to be somewhere in the middle.
Also check your glow plug, make sure its good & a standard long!
