That's the suggested retail price. Actual street price will be a bit less. It is a lot to plop down initially, especially considering that if you don't already own a set of 23mm hex wheels, you need to buy the adapters. They are bead lock wheels, though, so you don't have to chance trashing a set of wheels or tires trying to unglue anything.

I do hope that they come out with more designs. Personally, I find the Commandos (who names these things anyway?) to be downright ugly.

Tower is going to have them at $37.99.
Now if they will make some to race, and get rid of all the bling factor. They are doing like they did on the first 40 series wheels which were in chorme, but not at all good for racing, as they got banged up in time at all.

I'd like to see some dished beadlocks by Pro-Line in both "regular" and 40 series.

The bead-loc ring should be a gold color not orange like it looks in the pic. They are trying to copy the racing wheels that Weld makes, if you look at most dragsters they use Weld wheels with a polished center and a gold ring.

That's not a bad idea. I was wondering when Pro-line was going to do something like that, Maybe they'll come out with different colored rings like blue or red.

I wish there were more beadlock wheels I could put on my Stampede. The only ones I've ever seen have been rare, expensive, machined aluminum ones.

I think even without all the "bling" factor, racing beadlocks will never become a reality. Bead locks tend to be a lot heavier than standard dish wheels, so they are usually never used for racing. Even with a dish design, I don't think you'll see racing beadlocks simply because companies just don't have a market to sell them to. Serious racers will stay away from them because of the extra weight even if they were just simple dish wheels. Who knows, maybe enough club level racers who don't care about the extra weight might be interested enough to launch the product. You, and everyone else who is interested in the idea, should send an e-mail to Proline and give them your input. Companies make products to sell them. If enough people want the same product, then Proline will make it.

looks good, but how about some standard sized ones for regular maxxes. i hate the 40 series

Monster truck tires, inserts, and wheels aren't cheap, so I think bead locks will only grow based on cost savings alone. And don't forget convenience. Gluing tires is a hassle, and ungluing them is a disaster.

Attention bean counters: you have to weigh the extra cost of the bead-lock wheels against the cost of CA and discarded rims.

I need to get me a set. I really hate gluing tires to rims.

These will be more practical to run than my custom aluminum ones.. SWEET! :D Tho the aluminum ones are much nicer on show trucks than plastic for the most part.

I do hope they have different styles of wheels because commando's aren't too pleasing to the eyes IMO.

I know weight is the enemy but hey I am not racing, so no biggie for me.

By the way I like low prices but I do understand things do cost. $45 for a pair ain't that bad, considering what they are. Tho it is a retail so it probably be a bit lower which is nice.
