Chris, there are a number of options available. The cheapest would be to replace them with stock plates, but swap out the two plastic cross braces with a pair of the alloy ones like those used underneath the engine chassis plate (HPI #86063). Even a thicker flat plate might get bent in a nasty head-on or nose dive from a high jump and they usually bend right where the front cross brace is. Another option would be to go with a set from Atom RC. They are pretty thick, but machined so that they aren't so heavy and I'm pretty sure that they are guaranteed.

Got to agree with Kitty on this one mate. The stock ones are alot cheaper and pretty durable to i have got these and had my sav 25ss for 18 months know and go to meeting most weekends even through the winter and had no problems with them.

We've got lengthened, lowered, and thicker Savage chassis plates (3.2mm) available for $59.99, as well as the HPI #86063 aluminum bars and high-strength hex-drive hardware to replace the stock stuff. :) doesgo@slapmafro.com if you're interested.

That said, for the price I'd have to agree with Kitty and savagemachine. If you just want the stock length and height chassis plates, using stock TVPs along with the additional aluminum cross bars and good hardware will definitely help beef things up a bit.
