Thinking of the VirtualRC poll thread on here, is it just me, or would it make great sense for a video game peripheral manufacturer to make a racing game controller with the same basic layout as an RC car transmitter? There are obvious problems with standard controllers (such as Playstation or XBox controllers) for controlling a racing game, and as good as racing wheels can be, they have the (big, in my opinion) liability of having to be attached to something secure or be somewhat precarious. With a RC style controller, you could easily handhold it securely and would have good proportional control of throttle and brake and I'm sure you could figure out places for the additional buttons, too. If only the VirtualRC adapter would work with, say, a Playstation or XBox. ha Just a middle of the night thought.

There is a controler made, in the form of the thing that comes with Real Race. Unfortunately, it apparently uses a proritary (read: Axis Reversed) control scheme. This means that to use it with Virtual R/C, you have to steer with the trigger, and controller throttle and brake with the wheel. Your best bet is the adaptor that someone makes to plug a radio into a computer for use as a game controler.

I have a virtualRC adapter and I LOVE it for driving/racing games. It is great practice for racing to spend time "driving" something with the radio you use in races, to become more familiar with it. I prefer playing games on a PC to a console.

I was talking about the adapter from serpent, not the game.
