Then of course, the stock gearing is 13/52. That leaves a lot of room to bump the speed up using gearing. I run an 18/49 on my truck with a .21, and it does well.

Sure it'll pull wheelies. *my* truck will pull wheelies so hard it'll land on it's lid, with the gearing I described, but it's not exactly stock with just that gearing, I have other advantages - and no, it's not "set up" to pull wheelies - it just can.

I'm new to this truck myself, but it sure seems to be going alot faster than 31mph. All I know is that when it hits second gear, I can't hold it there long and I have to let off the throttle, and I even have 1.5 acres to play in.

RCCA has it down as 32mph so its definitely doing somewhere around the 30's it just seems alot faster than it really is when your standing still and watching it scream by you, especially if this is your first nitro too. When you get more experience it seems like a 45 mph truck car is as fast as that 30mph one you first had, least thats what i have found anyway!!!

Lots of people say that 30mph is slow because they see cars going 230mph on TV.
Trust me when I say that the stock MGT is in no way too slow for the track.
MikeWz and I have been taking our MGTs to the track lately and -bone stock- my truck will pull hard all the way to the end of the back straight and keep accelerating until I -have- to brake.
The top speed is just fine. In fact in my humble opinion (Coth would know better, hes the MGT man... im pretty new to the truck) the truck could be geared for more acceleration right out of the box to keep up with some of the .25+ powered trucks out there.
Mikes truck has some race mods on it, like lightweight rims and bowties, and his truck will just plant the rear end down, grab traction, and fly down the straight. And thats with the stock motor with a few gallons on it.
