You just won't be able to shift into reverse. Most likely, they were removed and FOC was done.

The micro servo is only used to shift from forward to reverse and vice-versa. If the FOC was installed, the tranny should be locked into forward.

Bah, bad idea IMO. Not only do I love my reverse, I use it! You'll lose more time waiting on a corner marshall than you would hauling around a reverse gear and a micro servo.................. especially if you can't drive worth a flip :D

Most racetracks don't allow reverse so it's just a waste of power and additional weight that you don't need on the truck. ;)

Mine does........ and it's a required item :D

Your track requires reverse? Seems far fetched. It seems I have to go flip my truck over allot more than I have to go turn it around.Seems if you dont drive into things you dont have to turn your truck around..Any track Ive been to if you use reverse your penalized, multiple offences means disqualification.

Never heard of a track that required reverse, but that's great for you. I believe most tracks, however, don't allow it. So for those folks, removing reverse isn't a bad idea as you can get DQ'd for using it during the race. Also, most serious racers that want max performance out of their vehicles choose to remove reverse to eliminate the extra drag in the tranny.

I can't figure that out... why do tracks specifically forbid using reverse to unstick yourself from a goofup? How is that an unfair advantage? Its practical and saves a corner marshall from having to run all over the place when the vehicle isn't even flipped over.

It's forbidden because no one knows when or how fast you're going to go into reverse so you could reverse right in front of someone else and wipe them out. It's easier for a driver to avoid a turn marshall then it is for them to predict when someone is going to use reverse.

I guess that makes sense... I've often wondered why no reverse either... It may just be an old rule from the days when nitro didn't have reverse.

If you have a revo, yea it'll run in forward only, but that seems like your cheating yourself. You never said you were racing, everyone just assumed. Since you don't seem to know much about the truck yet, I'm guessing your more of a basher. In which case I'd recommend reverse, but no its not required.

Either way, get out and drive! Thats the fun part!

It's not just with nitro. . .electrics are the same way and they've always had reverse.

As CNK said... its a hazard to all the other racers.
If you were to accidentally hit your reverse switch you could ruin the race.
Or if the radio glitched and did it... same result.

I still have reverse on my MGT, but thats only because Im not racing it yet.
When I get some racing wheels, tires, and other mods, ill also be doing the FoC mod.

Less weight and less drivetrain drag.

you could also just lockout reverse or unplug it for racing.just like in electrics(some) you can program the esc's to forward only

yeah but no reverse sorry and the reverse gears are probably gone too
