hows the truck? lol, how did you manage to crack the side rail? Luckily doesn't look serious, the top plate may have flexed a bit but looks ok, just need that siderail, definitly a cheap fix.

lol this was at bashfest and i had to tear down most of the truck! both side rails were cracked and the chassis was bent pretty good i might add lol, that was taking it of the raised back flip ramp ron made, tried to front flip it but it landed bad, cant tell you how it landed i couldent see it lol. it took me 3 hours to fixed so by the time i was done people were leaving :(
ericem
05-09-2007, 08:54 PM
man thats sucks, its very very veyr very very rare you see a side rail cracked from bashing usually when you hit a solid object it cracks, those bumpers are suppost to take most of that impact. You could have just kept driving XD
rhcsavage21
05-09-2007, 09:08 PM
lol it landed on it lid i was told, ( my cousin was filming) the roll bar saved it from more damage. this is a LST1 but soon to be LST2 :D
only major Payne i had that weekend was my front new era skid plate kept getting bent in! buts a bumper braces cause of it.
MrCrash
05-09-2007, 09:10 PM
If I remember right, it landed upside down from at least 15 feet in the air, with no body to absorb the impact.
ericem
05-09-2007, 09:18 PM
Ya the role cage probably MADE it crack jsut because of the way its supported, ill bet if there was no rollbar it would have dented the body and thats all. You can see just because of where the rollbar attaches to the plate. So im going to stick rollbarless :D

i don't need to worry about carnage my losi racer body can withstand the weight of the vehicle no problem :D

So, you would be willing to drop your truck upside down from 15 feet in the air, and rely on a $25 body to protect your $200 engine? Without a roll bar, he would have possibly cracked the engine head, which could bring dirt in, and burn up the engine.
seanmanibog
05-10-2007, 12:00 AM
um you mean, hes willing to rely on a 25$ body protect his 15$ cooling head? I am. its called the thick lexan bodies. work just as good as cages.

ya, actually i went off this huge hill at a construction site with the LST2 body and landed upside down id estimate the jump to be 30ft+, and i landed twice upside down when i did a backflip, first time RIGHT on the head, 2nd time landed on the rear of the body and ripped it appart, nothing some fishing string couldn't fix :D
Oh and i got 2 cooling heads payed $4 each plus $5 shipping. :p

LOL!!! No, they don't. Believe me, this is coming from someone who actually bashes their truck, not jumping 5 feet and landing in grass and calls it bashing. If you don't believe me that i truly bash, just say so and i'll post something that will make you believe.

i think its becuase the way the engine is mounted on the savage. Ill post something that makes u belive I bash this weekend ill see if my buddies wana head out, we will show u how we bash NON rollcaged :D
what i mean is its mounted very high, and most bodies sit very close to it. Just what i think, not often i see a lst which a bent engine head from landing upside down,
rhcsavage21
05-10-2007, 06:26 PM
o trust me i was bashing lol
4 suspension arms, 3 drive shafts, 2 bulkhead, 2 side rails and a main chassis says so lol
there is more but i dont feel like listing everything lol
thats in 2 days too
ericem
05-10-2007, 06:34 PM
*** were you doing? you need a lst2 conversion kit if ur breaking, wait you mean CV's or driveshafts??? and your breaking bulkheads? u running rpm's?
rhcsavage21
05-10-2007, 06:59 PM
lol the suspension is all stock LST1 and uhhh CVD's hey thats what happens going full throttle off z-mans 4-5 foot back flip ramp lol and just had a few bad landings :D
i'll be getting the update kit soon but right now i am concentrating on getting my actual car fixed and my license :D
ericem
05-10-2007, 09:06 PM
lol same same XD
Don't waste money on lst1 cv's though its such a waste, unless u have like a **** load.
when you get that conversion kit you should be able to handle a tiny 4-5 foot ramp, tahts nothing man!!. I just have the conversion kit,and rc raven springs and a losi racer body(which i just got today :D) And so far all i have broke is a arm's i think 3 so far.
I'm already fixing up my car ahead of time(to buy items, struts, springs,06 impreza rims, new top hats all around :P)
savage100
05-10-2007, 09:58 PM
Hey, ericem, this is the bashing i was talking about. It is still to be continued. If we land upside down without a roll bar/cage, we are going to break something as seen in the very first jump. his gas tank broke.

If i were you, i wouldn't go and get all new rpm's and put them on, just upgrade when they break because they are already very tough and will withstand a fair amount of bashing.
Edit: That sure is. Buggys can go so fast!

lol, im waiting for someone on lstforums doing a partout to sell the a arms. I got the deal for my friend on the RPM a arms, with the lunsford turnbuckles for only $30!! I did that so that he won't call me saying he broke a a-arm :D He still didn't break the stockers yet though but w/e. So far ive been pretty lucky usually i break a a-arm everytime i go out, like a few weeks ago when i went bashing at a construction site, i must have did atleast 30FT jumps, one hill was like 70ft tall, but i couldn't get the best air off it, when it landed, it landed HARD, just my fuel line broke
Oh by the wya i wouldn't change the stock a-arms yet, if you break a stock a-arm on a savage i think your gifted XD
savage100
05-14-2007, 05:13 PM
So, ericem, did you get any video or pics of this 30 ft. jump?

So, ericem, did you get any video or pics of this 30 ft. jump?
not this weekend, my friend stripped his head button, FOR THE 3rd TIME!!!!!!!! He might as well order a head button with a glow plug, like.......I was going to go, but i wanted more then one vehicle in the video. My other friends who have nitro's aren't in the same area, so its pretty unlikely they will come out there to break tehre truck. lol my friend who gto a aftershock, he made a ramp that is 10" tall, and hes like NO WAY ill jump it at full speed, unless u want to pay for my $500 truck, im like, what  you can jump it off a house if you want, won't cost you the price of the truck to fix a a-arm :D

I got it from a hobby shop not so far from where i live. You should be able to get one at stores that carries parma bodies.
I did get some run time with it but i'll wait untill i get my weelie bar to put it on more often. The titan body is longer that the HPi gt2 and it rubs on the floor when the truck weelie. Therefor it gets damaged more easily.

the ATX tires definitly and they will work with the rims you have too! there 40 series wheels. The rims on the lst2 are 20mm which are great. Although i don't think you can get the 20mm hexes for the savage. Unless the savage has 6mm axles, then you can get the lst1 20mm hubs.

Not quite sure what you're asking. Is the Savage easy to fix? Or is it easy to fix the shocks on? I think the answer to both of those questions is yes. I had no problems with my Savage yet and haven't had problems mounting the shocks.

If your doing this often and taking off your TVP's everyday, you are clearly doing something wrong! I haven't had to do anything to my Savage yet, I haven't had any problems with it yet.
As far as getting an MGT or LST2, I wouldn't. I'd go with a Savage X anyday! Nothing wrong with them and its very strong and durable. And now with the Savage X 4.6, its a little faster.

Depends on what you will be doing mostly, backyard bashing, racing at the local track or racing at your house providing what kind of space you have to work with.It comes down to what you really like too but do some research so you're not disappointed.I have a CEN GST 7.7 that is an awesome truck,it's tough as hell and pretty fast too.I run on the local track just messin around but do some serious bashin with it also. You can check it out in Best Paint Comp. this month in the June amateur section,it's the one with the Chrome Grave Digger paintjob.

if you go spektrum you only need to antenna sticking our a few inches which is still under the body, the rest of the wire can tuck into the receiver box, and you don't loose signal. Guess thats a pro of 2.4ghz the frequecy can flow easily from low i guess? i don't know exactly why it works, but it does :D

You probably drilled the hole too much. I drilled mine so I can push it in the hole and it'll stay. Not push it in and its loose.

sweet, i wish i could machine my own stuff that would be cool. how do you like the jammin, iv heard lots of good about it?
dansf7
07-04-2007, 03:39 PM
the jammin is so easier to drive. i couldn't get the hellfire to turn. hellfire has way to much slop in the steering and i bought every piece out there to fix it .but nothing helped so got rid of it. jammin is alot lighter and handles all the big bumps and jumps with ease. best money ever spent except for the revo.its the best race truck out and i did say race truck not a good basher not as strong as my savage. i also made the shocks on the savage to.
savage25le
07-04-2007, 04:24 PM

as for the lst2 vs revo, i think it would be close, the lst2 looks very capable for racing, and i know my revo can race. so i think it would come down to the driver (id lose with either one :))
