How hard is it to work with carbon fiber??
Where do you get it and how much is it?
What do you use to cut it??
I have a dremel. It would be sweet to make some parts with CF!!!

You can pretty much go to any tuner shop and get a sheet of carbon fiber for like 20$ or more .

It doens't look as if the tank was fabricated from carbon fibre, it looks more like a stock tank wraped in carbon fibre.

yea, i have a for local racing it will do just fine.
the LHS was outa crowd pleazers for the maxx.
they just had some for the LST  .
this body wont last thorough the racing season.
then id throw on a nice racer body.
my bro hates the wing. but i like it.
though the wing does need to be changed to a mugen one for better side looks. and now the buggy needs a wing mount(thats where i got it from :p )

hey you got the sweet S bend :p
madsavage
02-07-2006, 10:13 PM
Nice bend in your chassis Bunsincunsi.
I had found the best why to fix the tvp's is to put the bent part of it over an open vise and tap with a small hamer and check by eye. Just puting the the tpv on a flat sheet and bashing with a hamer wont take the bend all the why out.
Nice pant job too.

thedarkness
02-12-2006, 02:16 AM
If you dont race theres no reason to go with a spektrum module or system, But Ive noticed that I have absolutly zero glitching, where as my old Fm module would glitch if I put a screw driver on the head when the truck is sitting on the starterbox. Its nice to also not have to put a antenna out the lid.

That's the best lookin Revo I've seen! I've heard of the ext. arms but not the chassis. Have you ran the XLB tires? I wouldn't think their compound would grip too well. I think a Hellfire body and wheels/tires would look perfect on your setup.
Anyway... NICE!

I have to give props to that revo as well, Looks like a novarossi engine but with that small of a cooling head would you be running an onroad .21 as well?( I run a vzr).Ive been looking everywheer for the ext arms but cant find them so I just got the qoncepts ext knuckles. Its always nice to see someone else who isnt afraid to race a bb revo

Nope, no damage at all to the electronics, not in the 7 years I've had it (the suspension/bulkheads are another story). I did lose the rubber cap that seals the reciever box while running it though, and I temporarily just sealed up the reciever box with electrical tape.

something i noticed with the revo that i didn't like was on my friends i adjusted the heigh on one of the tires a slot taller, and it made that side of the truck about a half inch higher...there should be small increments to adjust it, but other wise the revo's a nice truck
and the lst's look completely indestructible
ill have pix on here when i get my savage x :)

03-08-2006, 09:28 PM
Hey there ain't nothin wrong with barqs. Anyway I haven't really gotten down to tuning the revo yet since its been freezing here. I have all next week off for spring break (Woohoo!) so I'll have time to get it dialed in and all. So far though its been close to the LST though, and it definitely handles better. I'm still getting used to the truck and all though I just upgraded from a T-maxx. Don't get me wrong though the LST has massive amounts of power. For example we were driving at a parking lot with pretty high curbs. My friend got the front tires up on top of the curb and was trying get the rest of the truck up. We still haven't figured out how but it did a backflip and landed back exactly where it was. If we can get it to do it again I'll get it on video. I'll post my impressions of the revo once I get a little more time behind the wheel. I've only run 7-8 tanks including break in.

03-08-2006, 09:33 PM
that's awesome...same place huh?
how was the t-maxx compared to the revo? because i like the t-maxx, but it seems like the x would be better for bashing
wolfy2386
03-08-2006, 09:43 PM
The height adjustment can be large but you can fine tune it with the preload adjusters. As for the LST, its nearly indestructable, he's broken a few things but he drives his trucks hard so its only expected. The revo is a lot more durable than it looks. I was surprised, its help up to a lot of things I didn't think it would.
Compared to the T-maxx the revo handles a lot better and it much more duarable. Its also a lot easier to work on, and its just a well put together truck. Compared to the T-maxx the Revo is leaps and bounds ahead.

i want to say the front stretch is 150-200 feet long. the track is 15ft wide minimum all the way around. the track as it's set up in the pics is the short course with a 980ft centerline. the dirt up in the top of the pics that doesn't have the orange pipe around it is part of the long course. then the centerline is 1250ft long. it's an extremely technical track and you're on the brakes a lot more that you'd think you'd be. here's their web site: www.thefarm2.com

mdewitt71
03-20-2006, 08:02 PM
I made it from scrap round and square stock (I run an Army motor-pool).
I put it on a lathe and spun it then welded it all together. Nothing really fancy, It is more for looks than pulling. The wheel rims kind of rub the axles, need to put bearing in it.

Yea guys, Skeeze, Skipstr, Casey is the one man show at Twisted-Toys.net... I am beyond busy with customer builds, and my own projects but I am overstocked on parts and overloaded on projects.. At the same time I am looking to expand my little buisness so I am trying to sell some of these trucks and parts out of my inventory...
skeeze i was wanting to know if u would make a truck like one of ur nice basher and sell it.
Yea I have and I do... If you come to me with nothing... as in no electronics, motor wheels, ect.. The price is pretty high.. If you have some servos, electronics then the price drops dramaticaly..
I can build them pretty reasonable.. One way to get the price down is to pick from my used parts.. I will go through them and use all new gears and drivetrain... A properly built truck like this is better IMHO because you dont cry when the first scatchs show up on the skids and stuff.. But the internals are all new and properly shimmed and ready to get beat...
I can send the break down of the prices to a used savage with the opptions I can offer you out of the massive inventory I have here in house.. Just send me an email with the type of savage your looking for or how/where you bash for the most part.. We can go from there..

I haven't tried them on the track yet but for general bashing their great! They don't ballon at high speeds w/ great all around traction. The only problem I get is I have to pay alot of attention to the 17mm conversion because the nuts tend to come loose alot. I havn't tried thread lock yet but I might have to.

:D guess you didn't feel the Bud truck was worthy of the real sponsors? :D the only decals on mine are the small ones that mimic the stickers on the real cup cars. all the other logos, pinstripes, head & tail lights, grill, etc are all hand cut and painted. and i'm just razzin' ya about the body. just some friendly NASCAR smack talking. :D

Hey Geek, who makes your shock towers, Is it UE? They're friggen sweet!
GeekRC
04-07-2006, 03:38 PM
Howdy, Holeshot. They're actually made by Fastlane Machine. They're a lot like the UE towers...except that you don't need extra hardware for the body mount posts like you do with the UE towers. I have a set of the UE towers I bought used in case I need a backup pair...I can say that design-wise they are nearly identical.
One good thing about them is the sheer number of shock mounting holes. Like a lot of people who have the Powerstroke shocks and RPM a-arms, I found that my springs tended to rub against the upper arms if I used the outside mounting holes on the bottom arms. With the Fastlane and UE towers I was able to find mounting holes that alleviated the problem.
Happy RC'ing!

Heres a couple of my new lst2, Great truck and just getting better. What upgrade would you do first. I havn't found any weak points yet and they don't seem to make any aftermarket 20mm rims for it yet. I got a streamliner body ordered for it. Any suggestions.

there is not really anything u can to upgrade to make it better. UM maybe a RPM gear cover and Arms.
Quinton
04-08-2006, 01:56 PM
For the LST2 I would FOC the tranny, get a high power nimh pack (unless it came with one), then I would try and convert it to accept 14mm or 23mm wheels.
I think the streamliner body is going to look way too small on the big LST though.

it weighs less than the original tmaxx tranny. a lot of the mechanical components are replaced electronically by the optidrive. so if you want reverse, than the optidrive setup is better/lighter.

Here's a comparison I did when it first came out from HPI. This was a stock Savage 25 on the right and my lowered Savage SS 4.6 on the left. I still have the stock tires on it for comparison reasons. It really lowers the motor, trans, fueltank and rollbar. You could slam a body all the way down too.
