It has alot of mods, too much to list!
Can i see a pic without the body on please?

Was ur truck on Inside Rc. Or were u at a Dirt oval track. I seen the Same truck on Inside Rc today.
Nope wasn't me. If they called I'd love to do a show with them though!

I haven't raced it yet, my track doesn't open till May 7th. I like how it feels with the usual playtime bashing. You don't have the topheavy rollover feel as much.

hmm sounds like it will handle corners better then.

Heres is my maxx. My body is destroyed and i would rather spend the money on hop ups than a body so i made this cardboard one. Not the prettiest in the world but it works. I made the trailera few days ago. Again not the prettiest but it works. Knida at least, it jumps around a lot while off road. I want to paint it and put sides on it but for now its like this. The car was there just for the picture and to put on some wieght. Its some toy rc that i picked up for $1 at a yard sale. Enjoy. BTW it isn't near as clean now. Found a new bashing spot at a nieghborhodd in construction so it comes home covered in brown (dirt) or white (rocks) dust.

Crazy4rc- How do u like the lcg tvps tho..i just ordered some along with some other goodies :D . this truck should be looking awesome bout the time race season comes up. May13. Im still fiddling around with my dampner oil im at 60wt for the dampeners but i might go 45 or 50. the rebounds are at 40. so takes time to do it but its worth it.

I just ran mine today against a stock 4.6 and "What a difference!" You really don't appreciate it until you actually compare them together. I run the stock oil, 10 wt, with triple rate springs I got off of ebay and I'm really comfortable with this setting. I had the Integy MSR5 shocks but they leaked like crazy and bent shafts, had to go.

chrisoneal
04-17-2006, 10:03 PM
were did u find those springs i cant find them at all in black.

losi racer13
04-17-2006, 11:18 PM
well for onroad i use 4 shocks with springs as rebound to push the dampeners up and then i use 4 shocks without springs as dampening the oil is still there but there is no kick back so it so nice a smooth and its amazing for onroad but my little thing is i flip the rebound ones upside down for lcg. and i use internal shock limiters.

Ebay. I just did a search and could not find them in black. Silver, red, purple and blue and yellow but no black. I bought them like a year ago.

watch that nova rc head. they tend to over cool, meaning the oil in the fuel is out of it's optimal viscocity range allowing metal to metal contact.

wen we were in testing with nova, we had hamburger style heads. where you could remove stacks depending on the temperature of the day.

just a note. nice truck.

Crazy- i race my savage onroad against other monster trucks, since there really is no close offroad track so i have to slam it to keep th center gravity low, so i keep the truck stable.

just got done driving the savage with the lcg, and it drives soo much better, takes corners faster and handles them like a touring car, i got to fittle with the shock oil some more. Also it feels like its putting out more torque since all the center bones are even with the drive cups.

I lost interest in Hockey once it became like Baseball. It seems more about money then the game when they can skip seasons and dozens of games because a few million a year isn't enough.

Takes the "sport" out of it for me at least.

MAXXTRAX, sick Revo man!

That thing will be wicked wheelie monster! Mine lofts the front end all the time with an O.S. .18, although the 3.3 has been in a little while now and it is smoother on the bottom with a little more top end.

Enjoy that monster and keep it with you at all time, if your fullsize ride breaks down you can tow it home with the Revo!

Here are a few i took of my savage LE last night. It is stock except for the venom hump pack and i modded the radio box so i didn't have to take it off all the time. Also i raised it up even more with my ghetto idea looks clean though. :D

ghetto LOL bits of hose cut a slice in them put them around hte shock body then wrapped with electrical tape so it looked normal and they didn't pop off

Can't wait till i get a picco or sts .28 i need to get my rear diff fixed again though i blew one the day before yesterday that is the 5th. (it happened because my lhs keeps using the same diff cup even though that is the problem they keep using it coz they don't have any diff cups and the repairs only last half a tank, they lock the diffs and hope for the best) i will get it fixed only when they get another cup for it :) then i need to buy that 8 port race engine from clint then i will save for a new engine for my sav. I must say though im fairly impressed with the s-25 so far because everyone i have spoken to say it is gruntless mine will literally jump off the ground wen it is on grass and i hammer the throttle and it lands on it's lid. Apparently that engine is hit and miss i must have gotton a good one :D

Quinton
05-07-2006, 09:00 AM
The reason why it'll jump off the ground is because you've got your shocks setup very stiff. Makes for fun wheelies and 2 wheel action but horrible when racing on a loose dirt track.

kawasakirider
05-07-2006, 09:17 AM
It did that before i put my ghetto spacers in. I go bashing at a bmx track with jumps way bigger than jumps on an rc track but the surface is as hard as a rock with extremely fine gravel so it is slipperly as hell fun for doughnuts :D

Has anyone had troubles with the paint stripping off there shocks on the savage black springs when the oil from the pipe hits them? I did so i took my springs off and marinated them lol in nitro (no i am not cooking them later) and i did this to all 8 shocks then rubbed the paint off they are now silver. The 4wd ones handle real good. The 2wd one has really long shocks and it makes it sway a bit. Either way they are a BLAST to run. Performance wise, they can do to scale what you would expect a full size monster truck would do. The one with the 42cc is a monster and tears it up real good!

No, it's a titan, but it's not a factory titan twin. It started life as a titan deluxe and was fitted with the second engine befor ofna ever offered the titan as a twin. If you look at a factory twin you'll see that it uses differnt fuel tanks and radio box. It's a blast and the sound you get from the twins is unreal.

Instead of getting nitrous and blowers, why not polish everything on the truck? It would be truly "pimped out", and the weight loss caused by sanding the rough surfaces might get you some extra performance.

Thanks man, I bash and only bash and the only thing I race are the kids on their BMX's. Being that the TVP's are carbon fiber and not aluminum, they won't bend. When the TVPs hit their breaking point, I'd imagine they'd shatter, but I haven't hit that point. I have taken a ramp jump off of an overpass and landed nose first onto the ground below. The only thing broken was my front bumper and shock tower. Maybe the TVPs would break if I ran it bumperless WOT into a wall...

The only thing broken was my front bumper and shock tower. Maybe the TVPs would break if I ran it bumperless WOT into a wall...

If you could direct me to black or non purple lower bulkhead plates, then I'll get them.

I don't think he is leaving the hobby. On Savage Central I think I read a post where he said it was just too much work, and time to make parts and they weren't selling enough to make a good prophet. But I don't remember exactly what he said.

This is my LST2, purchased in February, with almost two gallons run through it. It is basically bone-stock, except for 10,000wt silicon in the front and rear diffs, 35wt shock oil, an XTM sliding carbon clutch and flywheel, dual receiver packs, big-bore fuel filter, Duratrax fail-safe, hard-anodized exhaust, RPM gear cover, and a larger air filter.

Nice truck D3VILDOGG! You say you have about 2 gallons throw it, how do you keep it from getting skinned up and so clean with that much fuel throw it? I clean mine after each day of running but mine sure was skin up a whole lot more they yours after 2 gallons. Do you run it hard?

D3VILDOGG
05-30-2006, 09:28 PM
Thanks 46u! Well, I really haven't had a chance to bash it too hard because of my location, but hopefully that'll change soon. I'm fairly good with the controls, so I've only rolled it a few times because of it's braking power and tendency to wheelie, but I've never hit anything. WD-40 does wonders; I use it to wipe the body down so it covers up minor scratches, I also spend alot of time keeping the chassis clean to keep wear to a minimum. I've heard this body likes to crack around the fuel-filler area, so when it does I'll probably go with the LST Racer body.

Running off road it is hard keeping my trucks clean. I spend about 2 to 3 hours after a day as the track prepping, after run oil, and cleaning my trucks. I do not get them spot less but I do keep mine cleaner then most of the others I have seen. I definitely believe in keeping them clean is good to the health of the truck.

DarkSavage

Yeah cleaning your truck/car helps them perform better less weight ''not much'' and keeps everything smooth such as hing pins, pivot balls, shocks, it all helps when you keep your truck clean, rather then really dirty.

Hey 46U I deffinetly have to agree with U there. Some of my friends laugh at me about how clean I keep my trucks but it does matter! Your diffs, axles, brakes, and other components wont last long with caked up dirt.

Yes it is.Ive had it for two weeks now.Really wanted a Savage but the local HS gave me a deal i could'nt refuse on the Revo.So far i'm really happy with it-the handling is incredible.

DarkSavage
06-04-2006, 09:18 PM
yeah you would like the revo better tho. since the Savage takes more then the truck costs to make it a racer.

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 09:21 PM

lol u will like the revo they are sick i had the choice and i went for the limited edition savage and now im planning on buying a revo (not because theres anything i don't like with the sav i just want another rc)

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 09:32 PM
dark sav, why do u think it costs a load of money to make the sav a racer? get the LE or the X or any sav that has some decent power and lower it down IMO the sav out of the box handles great comparable to my hyper 7 and the speed is aboutt he same and my sav is stock.

Brian23
06-04-2006, 09:39 PM
racing is more than having a big engine... the savage is also a heavy truck

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 09:41 PM
The lst2 isn't? yeh 'swat i thought a savage cna be made a racer for just a club race with a ride height change

Brian23
06-04-2006, 09:47 PM
true it is and so is the mgt-- i gues i made a bad point there lol

RuKind
06-04-2006, 09:53 PM
The lst2 at 13lbs. or so, is heavy but the design of the truck has alot lower cg and alot wider stance then the savage. It still took alittle $$ to get my lst2 to be a proper racer.

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 09:54 PM
lol NP im just saying that everyone says that the sav needs a truck load of $$$ to be made a racer but in reality it needs a shock oil and maybe spring change, then it is up to the driver sure the sav driver may have a harder time keeping up but it doesn't mean it can't be done and i have seen allot of stock savs win against revos and with drivers of similar skill levels it just depends how it works on the day i spose.

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 09:57 PM
i don't think many rc vehicles need allot of money to be racers if u think smart. IMO the most race worthy savs out of the box are: the LE as number one 3 speed dirt bonz cam type servo saer nice pipe, 2 savage 4.6 ss X everything the sav X has except more grunt and u choose ur radio gear and last the savage X everything to be a good racer but with a shock change of the LE the x can't really compare without the things the sav has. The lst2 is a great race truck but in reality no truck is ready to hit the track straight out of the box. JMO

RiderZ
06-04-2006, 10:03 PM
Wow i did'nt mean to start a controversy by posting pics of my Revo.I'm actually more into the Monster trucks than race trucks.Thats why i have the Proline Mashers and 72' Chevy body on it.I dont race and dont plan on racing so its big tires and lots of ground clearance for me!!! :D

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 10:05 PM
NP RiderZ you will be happy with ur revo just out of curiosity what sort of sav did u have lined up?

Probably should'nt have posted a pic of my quad-its not R/C

RuKind
06-04-2006, 10:09 PM
The most expensive thing you need to buy and probable the biggest preformance improvment is wheels and tires $24 for rims and $56 40 series bowties. But your going to want F.O.C., diff oil, sway bars, heavier springs, shock oil (on a lst2 thats about a bottle each) and a nice pipe. Oh yea you can't race a stock body so add a body and paint.

DarkSavage
06-04-2006, 10:10 PM
No im saying it costs alot. ok include this to make it a full out racer.

New electronics

New rims tires

new pipe(depends on model)

low center gravity tvps

new shock oil

new springs(track preference)

But the thing is since i bought it rtr 25 i had to buy the alot more then the new ones come out with. im just saying it depends on your likings. i like to spend alot of money on something im gonna be racing so i go full out on it. as you seen mine in the pic. its not stock.

kawasakirider
06-04-2006, 10:15 PM
Yes dark sav i love your savage and i realise now you would have spent allot of money on it because it was a 25 rtr mine was (is) the limited edition all i need to to do make it race able really is to lower my truck with the cam type servo saver even with it up high like that it handles as well as my buggy. RiderZ, Im 14 i have a kx125 (2 stroke race bike) and also with the ss kit if it was the 25 ss be glad u bought ur revo the only savs i would buy over a revo is the limited edition or the 4.6 ss kit (non X version but I may change my veiws on the X if HPI fix the X's problems with the kit version and fix up the rtr not sure yet).
