What problems are they having.? thanks im thinking about getting a new k4.6 engine since this one i have is getting old.

Well the biggest problem that a load of people are having on S-C is that the tranny case flexes a helluva lot sending the mesh out ALL the time even with steel spurs and hardened cb's it happens a load of people have been having that problem. I have also heard talk about the tvp literrally breaking where the lazer etched X is loads more problems look it up on S-C, frankyrizzo has been helping people fix their problems with new tranny cases and everything also herr savage sold his in favour of the regular 25 rtr a load of people on there that got the first lot of sav X's say that they are nowhere near as good as the first gen sav someone even stating it is an "inferior product"

5 gallons on my Sav X and no trans flexing or spur gear probs since the 1st gear that was not spaced right from factory. I smoke Revos and those old Savages all the time at the track.

I just realized I never posted newer photos of my truck. Here is the newest photo I have. Imagine it with a different throttle linkage, two extremely bent skid plates, about 10 missing screws from bending the skidplates, half the paint missing from the rollbar, mud on everything, and the rear end bent upward slightly, and you have my truck as it sits.

Chukb glad to hear ur X is holding up but im just saying allot of people have had problems. Also im sure you do smoke the revos and savs at the track but it would be interesting to see a stock limited edition against an X in a straight line and around a track in a straight line i'd be biased against the LE but not sure on the track depends on the driver

DarkSavage
06-06-2006, 03:14 AM
old Edition savages ay. try and beat mine on the street. it aint going to happen. and you got 5 gallons already. holy crap i got like 4 and i jad my truck since last june.

kawasakirider
06-06-2006, 03:17 AM
I reckon the stock savs that would beat a stock X are the 4.6 ss and the LE that is all i would think if the drives skill were the same

DarkSavage
06-06-2006, 11:49 AM
If they fix those problems you listed im thinking about getting the conversion kit so i can get to the diffs faster. But im not trying to brag im just saying all the savages are like the same in performance wise. say if you say your beating limiteds your saying im a good driver since they all have the same amount of performance almost.

kawasakirider
06-07-2006, 07:28 AM
I'm not sayin i beat LE's I have an LE. I said that stock savs out of the rtr models the LE is the fastest and most race worthy because of the 3 speed the tuned [ipe the tires the dual brakes (the dual brakes john hultz swears by them) and allot of other things that doesn't mean that someone would lose against an LE if they had a 25 rtr it comes down to driver. So darksavage did u check out S-C and see all the probs the X has apparently got?

What does it make if the fuel tubing is under the truck?
Does it make the fuel flow better or what?

chrisoneal
06-09-2006, 02:05 PM
more gas that ur tank can hold.

DarkSavage
06-09-2006, 03:10 PM
haha no, ok look on your fuel tank there should be a rim around the gas feed. and incase any fuel spills around the rim its drains into that hole and from the hole it runs down the fuel line not onto your motor plate. you have to look at your fuel tank to understand it.

chrisoneal
06-09-2006, 09:52 PM
oh i didnt know what fuel line it was. I know there are some people that run long fuel lines so that u can hold more gas in ur tank.

With this parts my Truckzilla Savage is very heavy.
Specially the 7.7 Fireball Tires. For Racing i use 40er Proline Tires.
The 7.7 Tires are to heavy for bashing. But nice for pictures.

The engine is new so the power is more and more each race.

And i think a wheelie is possible if the engine has full Power.
I have a HPI wheelie bar :-) .

With my truckzilla the engine has no problem. Very powerfull engine this werks Racing Collari 30.
But you need a lot of Mods for this engine.

I you have a normal Savage it wheels al the time with this Collari.

I have a nova 4 shoe aluminium Clutch, Robinson Racing Steel Combo +++++

Yea it jumps good. Much better with the long wheel chassis.

Hope my english is not terrible

can you compare the mgt with the savage? like wich one handles better. i got my savage hanbdling amazing for onroad i turn as good as a revo with the shaved servo saver peice. lol. i also shaved alot of wieght off my savage, arms, bumpers, c hubs

DarkSavage
06-15-2006, 04:47 PM
oh yea, does anyone have problems with the revo header breaking, this is my second header that broke, i think the alloy they use gets hot and cold alot and then brakes. thats what it looks like to me.

gsxr310
06-15-2006, 08:17 PM
to me the mgt handles better (out the box) because it's much lower than the savy. but nothing like flm lcg tvps will do the trick :D out the box the mgt is faster... (4.6) but for bashing, I haven't had to replace nothing on my le. i had to replace a couple spurgears for the x because i believe the design of the tranny case flexes. the mgt, i had to replace an a-arm, shock tower and went w/ stiffer springs. i did bend the header on my revo (2.5and had to replace the bulkhead from a hard crash. nothing broke on the 3.3 yet...

DarkSavage
06-15-2006, 10:35 PM
Yeah, I got lcg tvps on my savage and it handles good. So you think the Mgt is a better racer then a Savage

Yeah, I got lcg tvps on my savage and it handles good. So you think the Mgt is a better racer then a Savage

If it's out the box, the mgt. with simple upgrades: motor/ex. lcg tvp, savage hands down. and that's if the drivers are the same. the mgt is just too heavy also.

GSXR man ur sav is in excellent condition. Well i just stripped my stock sav Spur gear and i was wondering if the 47 t will work OK with the 15 t on my LE with the s-25? Oh and you guys are not going to believe this so i need to get a video but my sav ATM with 15/49 will not keep the front wheels down and today it happened twice i wheelies and kept going and hcanged into second gear and kept going for a further 20ft  pretty amazing considering my LE is stock and still has the s-25 :D :D :D

w/ a 47/15 setup, you'll lose topspeed but will gain in acceleration. i'm running a 47/19 on my sts le and it still wheelies like crazy!

kawasakirider
06-16-2006, 04:05 AM
I won't gain in acceleration because i am losing teeth on my spur gear i tried it and although it was fun it won't flip like the 15/49 did but when i get my new engine it will HEHE oh btw your LE is pretty much stock i believe, what is the acceleration and top end like compared to the s-25 with ur LE?

06-16-2006, 04:37 AM
hey kawasakirider on rccaraction.com there is an article on porting the s-25 for more power :) its pretty complicated but worth it if you dont have money for a new motor, the savage gained a total of like 6mph

kawasakirider

On the other hand if you don't have money for a new motor you may not want to attempt any mods to gain speed, since 35mph stock is faster then 0 with a damaged engine, :D.

I have been modding engines for years and still get a little nervous every time since one slip equals a new powerplant, or at the very least low power and poor performance!

pretty low. did you use fuel line in the shocks?

btw-you'll love the spektrum once you figure it out. I have one I use on my Sav X and my Jammin buggy.

06-21-2006, 03:04 PM
I heard the fuel line breaks down so I use the rubber bumper that are on the out side to keep the shock from bottoming out. I am running one red (orange) and one green spring with 25-weight oil. I tried it with out the shock spring spacers like it is set up now but it set to low. I all so have the offset wheels. It handles quite well now but have a lot more I am going to do to it. It started out as a 4.6SS but has a .25 RTR body on it as I picked up a few off ebay real cheap. I am on my 3rd body. I get about 2 gallons to a body. According to the tracking number my radio should be here today.

DarkSavage

Yes they break down after a month then you got to replace them. but now i dont use limiters anymore since i dont need them since im running smaller wt oil.

id reccomend the savage....OR switching ur mini choice for something more practical....like a RC18 or something that Wont SNAP the front end off with the first 40-50mph cartwheel.....trust me man...u gotta have allum chassy, arms, knuckles, shock towers, titanium hingepins...THE whole works to make a mini take a beating......been there done that....a RC18 with half the modds is 10000 times better than the MIni-T could EVER BE...and it still wheeelies at 1\2 throttle....loook into it or PM me for more info :D

im liking it alot. why does the Tnx look so bare. its so much extra room on the chassis.

Holeshot101
07-13-2006, 10:20 PM
Is your TNX light on it's front wheels? It seems like it would be because the tranny, motor and tank are so far back on the chassis.

Brian23
07-13-2006, 10:55 PM
maybe the room is for a possible side exhaust?

Quinton

So much room because the TNX comes stock with a side exhaust and it's big truck with no frills or added weight. The TNX is a kickbutt racer. The 2nd version should be even better - just needs a little more syspension (and more aftermarket support).

Now on with the pics sucka's. LOL

My wife's T-Maxx, she is super proud of it so I figured we'd show it off. Looks like a shelf queen cause it is :p . When is Traxxas gonna get smart and build a drivtrain that will withstand a big block like everyone else? This thing eats diffs and clutches like it is its job!

IMO that Maxx would look much better with a truck body or an HPI Charger or Cuda or sumpin like that. The Z just doesn't look right on there - put it back on the sedan. :)
Ask her if she would be willing to show us a topless picture (of the Maxx of course)

Tig

Quite the collection you have there. Maybe your wife can start a business painting bodies for a living, that Z looks great.

And bottom, she buys bodies without knowing what she is gonna do with them, waiting for "inspiration" I guess. The Z was one of those and since she wanted street tires we both figured it would fit and I think she pulled it off nicely. I am a truck guy myself, however I do have a 1970 Boss 302 body painted like my real Boss for my savage so I guess I did it too

This one she was gonna keep on her truck until we did the BB conversion, it was featured as Shot of the Moment on RCU. This truck will be up for sale as soon as I do the 2.5R conversion(I have all the stuff, just too much going on).

Nice Garage...

I got rid of a lot of my RC cars since my second son was born..now that they are both a little older, the collection is slowly coming about, but I don't want to own cars that I already had, so my choices are pretty steep on the wallet...

Nice Trucks GUYS...keep the pictures coming...

Impala with gold flake sprinkled into the gold paint during painting. Still haven't quite mastered the airbrush so I have to get creative with what I got to get custom looking paint. Once I master the airbrush it's wide open, all kinds of wicked colors and creations. :D

Killerush
07-27-2006, 07:42 AM
Be careful with the '93, they came factory with hyperutectic pistons, so if you decide to spray it or put any boost on it you'll need to upgrade to forged pistons(unless it's already been done).

winning edge designs
07-27-2006, 08:58 AM
:)

If you use a big hit of NOS then forged are needed, as are better valves, etc. But for a mild shot, 100-125 or so your fine with stock pistons. In fact Hyperutectic are better then the standard cast pistons. Just be sure not to go lean, or NO engine/piston will survive.

aka, stuck fuel solenoid, low fuel pressure, etc. BOOM!!! "why is it running rough and smoke is coming from the dipstick tube?" LOL
