The Revo Pwns everything. I like the Thunderquake next, then it's a tie between the NT and GT. If the tranny wasn't so horrible by design in the Tmaxx, I'd give it props.

The stadium trucks are both pretty peppy. One has a Fantom FR15, and the other is massively overpowered with a CVRX18. It's impossible to drive, but fun to try :)

I still want to know why traxxas refuses to make their new monster tucks 1/8 scale

my rs4 is a true 1/10 scale car and the revo towers next to it.

It has to be the engine that makes a barrier between 1/10 and 1/8

Hey skeeze, which set up do you like better? Also how much better then stock it is? I have 2 savages and thought about setting on up for the track and keeping the other like it is... Just thought the LST shock might really help out the track savage.

Here is what i find.. The tower thats .5" thick machined delrin was designed to be used with buggy shocks not the LST shocks. Although they fit I only get the use of 4 holes out of the 24..

With the bracket I made I put the shocks at more of the angle that they should be. If you look at the stock LST you will notice that the shocks are almost vertical. Also since I use the stock tower and bolt on the bracket, the flex of the tower allows for some give.. I found that I like that because I have not had any issues with with bashing on these shocks..

Performance... LST shocks give the absolute best ride around bar none. One thing is that I run these shocks on either my extended truck (1.5" exteded and .5" lowered) and I also run them on my mid tanked ride.. If you try to mount them on the stock truck you will have to move the rear toe links to the front and put the shocks on the rear... If you have mid tank the shocks have room.. Its the tank that the shocks would hit.. I have a few pics of how people got around it, or know that kudos has the bracket that relocates the tie rods so you can run them on a stock length truck..

What ever you have to do to get the LST shocks on, I belive its well worth it... and not just cuz they look bad a$$....!

dipped all my servos to make them all blue

dipped the radio box and changed it to make it waterproof

had a home made wheelie bar that worked great... until it broke from a bad landing

carefully ground the chrome off the stock rims - then died them blue

clipped the stock tires to make them pins

dremeled out the same hex shape as on the inside of the rims on the outside to allow the rims to work reversed = lots of extra width

added a hood scoop...but i dont know if it looks good or not i can't decide...lol

hey, i have a t-maxx to with the stock engine and that same engine head, and it made me think of how much heavier your truck is with all that aluminum...

how does your 2.5 do with all that weight? any wheelies?

do you ever pull that boat or is it just for looks? if so how does the 2.5 handle that?

oooo and what pipe do you have on there and how much did it help performance?

it has been long since parted out, the tires went to a losi xxx-t, the electronics have gone into my 12th scale, i gave the body to a person at the track who had a rustler, almost all of the bearings have gone into some of my other projects, and i sold the chassis to someone who owned a rustler to use for parts
i almost find it haunting to be looking at a picture of a truck that doesnt exist anymore

I currently have the engine off and torn apart for a rebuild. The upgrades or modifications I have made is a new body, painted stock wheels, modified the header (made slightly wider with dremel tool), tuned side exhaust, and snow chains. I will be dropping a new piston/sleeve in it very soon.

Thanks guys :) Sorry, i don't have any video yet. I was going to take some this past weekend for the truck's first bash session... but i didn't - was actually was too giddy that the truck worked and survived the whole day without any broken parts.

The truck itself is a Tamiya TLT-1 that i decided to convert to nitro strictly for the hell of it. The engine is an abandoned HPI .15FE that has seen better days but it works really well for this rig. Top speed is probably around 20mph or so, although i have not measured it. I'm just taking my original guess and lopping a quarter off.

It has a disc brake, hiding behind the spur gear. 4WS is done with mini-sized servos. Throttle and brake are also controlled by another mini-sized servo.

Those skeptical of the drive belts- the engine really is past its prime, and it has stiff clutch springs for a nice, plush launch so things aren't being torn up with each tap of the throttle.

I don't have too many pics of the truck without body, but i'll try to take some when i get home from work. This is one showing the cross section with the engine in place though:

Losi Racer-

The LST tires and rims are great. They hook up well and have a good "wear life". I spent my cash on race stuff like 23mm adapters, Wabash 40 series wheels and bowties, MX-3 radio system, failsafe, yadda yadda. Next up is a new body and a carb swap and that should complete the truck in this phase so far. I've also done the pullstart swap and I started the Forward Only Conversion.

i got done....cvd's, ball diff, boca bearings, ti turnbuckles, oilfilled shocks, dual padded slipper, Trinity pinions,2 losi packs,1 dynamite pack, 1 united rc Gp 1100 pack , trinity 17turn pro motor, deans, novak xrs esc''fried'', and jr r125 reciever and xr2i controller, hs55 servo, hs55 servo saver, lightend top shaft, losi foams all around, taper pins, smashers all around,losi spring set..soon to have a novak micro gt esc.

They're 40 Series from Proline...so the wheel diameter is larger. But, as a whole, they're just about the same size together, maybe just a bit taller than the stock setup.

They're "Piggyback" Shocks...the reservoirs help with damping. When the shock shaft slides into a shock body, the oil is displaced. It's just like putting an ice cube into a glass of water; the level of the water rises because the ice displaces the water. Unlike an open glass of water, the oil in a sealed shock has nowhere to go when it's displaced, and if the shock is over-filled, you won't even be able to compress the shock shaft. (Which is why with other shocks, they tell you not to fill it completely with oil.) The reservoirs allow you to completely fill the shock body to eliminate air bubbles, and they allow oil to flow out of the shock when displaced by the shock shaft. The fluid flows into the reservoir when the suspension is compressed then flows back into the body when it extends.

Reduced oil heating is another benefit of them. As the piston moves up and down inside a shock, the oil temperature increases slightly. The extra fluid in the Progressive system's reservoir will help keep the temperature of the shock down. And the heatsinks on the reservoirs help keep it cool as well.

I like the piggyback shocks.. I saw the LST at my LHS and i must say this truck is very nice considering its Losi's first time.. they must have worked really hard on it..

You must have a different T-Maxxx then the rest of us, mine is very easy to work on and nothing is buried, perhaps you have mistaken your Savage for a T-Maxx? :D

Perhaps it's time to change your nick if your so disenchanted with the T-Maxx... :p

No I am not dissapointed with it I just think some of the others have improved on what traxxas started there is still only one T-Maxx while others try to just copy it others like losi have made factery what we have bulit our maxx's into. It's just the power game moving forward and getting bigger and better with every new truck interduced and every new engine now it's a.32 next it's a.46 then 1.90 & on & on untell we or the market won't take any more. Ijust think the LST is a good and werthy compeater to the monster truck world.

I've owned pretty much every major MT out there....I even bought the Savage when it first came out (when it had the weak C-Hub, and screw through the tank problems). And the Savage...by far, is the most cumbersome truck to work on. I got so tired of taking 1/4-1/2 the truck apart, just to get to simple things.The Savage is tough as nails....no doubt, and I still like them...but I eventually got rid of mine, because I hated working on it.

yeap that is the only thing bad about it is u have to take 1/4 or 1/2 just to change the spur gear thats the only bad problem but i love this truck
