whats up fellas, hay i just got new motors for my emaxx, can somebody tell me what things i need to solder onto the motor. i have the stock novak evx speed control. do i need those shtockky diodes things or like capicitors or whatevers..???please tell what kind to get if possible..thanks for your help.
oh, i ran one battery with the new motors without any of the capicitors or diodes...will that ruin my esc now?
thanks
What kind of motors did you get? Some do not need any thing.

im using some johnson motors. but doesnt the evx require it?
The motor does not determine the need for capacitors. The ESC does. All the ESC's put out within the last 8 years definately need them more than the rusty old ESC's from the days of old.

Running the motors without the capacitors just creates a lot of radio interference and will limit the range of your e-maxx or it could screw up someone else near by, affects am radios the most.
Just solder a cap from + lead to the motor case and another cap from the - lead to the motor casing.
DO NOT solder diodes to your e-maxx motors, you will blow them up or possibly the evx also. Diodes only allow current flow in one direction. Schottky diodes are used on some forward-only esc's to aid in motor braking.
