so far ive had a stampede , mini-t, micro rs4, custom rock crawler , 2 custom subs , a old ugly stick plane and a kyosho concept 30 heli.
I got it a few days ago in the mail. dont have the electronics yet but I took the esc, reciever and 19 turn motor out of my pede and im driving it with that so far . this is the best driving rc Ive ever had. the build went great. it took only 4 hours to build , acelerates like a rocket, handles like a car and jumps briliantly. I couldn't be more pleased.

I just picked up a pro version last week and raced it for the first time last wed. Suprisingly I thought the car was way better than I expected out of the box. There are a few things that bummed me out concerning the car and what you have to do to get the thing setup correctly. Specifically there are things like the motor mount than needs more adjustment for you to use a very low turn motor and a small pinion. Parts are always an inssue with a car that every hobby shop doesn't carry.
Other than that I broke the first heat from a brain fart and having to deal with some pretty hefty right pull when on power. I am wondering if something is binding or I have the diff a little loose at the moment...

Ya sounds like maybe a little bit losse diff. as for the motor I had the same prob. I took off the top graphite plate and used my dremel tool to cut a little bit down so you can get more rotation seems to work pretty good.

You'll get some torque steer with the car because its shaft drive and the position of the motor. I get the same with my TC3 - it uses the same basic motor/drivetrain layout. Torque steer is where the car pulls to one side because of the force of the motor being at a right angle to the direction of the car.

ya thats prob. it....didn't een think of that

On my SB Sport I lessened it by installing the slipper clutch. When correctly setup it reduces wheelspin/torque steer and saves the gears when you have a hard landing.
I think the part numbers SB019, not sure if the pro model has it fitted or not as standard.

Ya it come's with the pro Iit came with mine.....I havent really noticed that problem with mine.... well I guess maybe just a little but not much....

Ive been running an 11 turn motor in my pro and i havent hgad any problems with touque steer yet . yesterday I broke my first part ( front arm) so tommmorow Im going to order a bunch of various replacements from mrc to have in stock when I go racing.

I'd like to know what some peoples gearing is.
I've been having trouble finding the right gearing.

I'm pondering buying one of these. any suggestions on spare parts to buy right off the bat? sounds like maybe the front suspension arms?

Front wishbones for sure..also stock up on spur gears (they're a non standard mount), gearboxes, counter gears, shock towers, and lots and lots of wishbone mounts (pivot blocks I think they're called?) They break a lot when car meet curbs. Get the alloy ones if you can, I'm trying to find somewhere to get them from at the min.
Sounds like a lot but when I take my car for some serious abuse (running on a track even the best nitro trucks break parts on..the local BMX track) this is a good list of what I might break throughout the day.
One thing to look into is RPM nylon RC10GT rear arms are exactly the same length..I've fitted a pair onto the back of my SB sport with very minor dremeling and a longer hingepin, think they'll go on the front as well, but I've not tried it yet.

if they work, let me know. I'll have to see...

I've been racing the car for quite some time now and have found the following true for low wind motors and gearing:
6-7 over the wind, example would be 11 turn, 17-18 tooth pinion.
for higher wind motors, i lower that down some:
2-4 over wind, example would be 19 turn, 21-22 tooth pinion.
These examples are for the exact same track, medium sized indoor, clay, med-high bite

You can probably use some bodymounts that bolt to the shock towers..like some of the touring car mounts....you might have to do some modification but will prob. work...take it down to you'r LHS and look into some different ones that they carry for different brands of cars.......

Since i got Lithium Polymer batteries i have been experiencing big problems with torque steer on my SB sport.
There always was some torque steer but now the wight on the battery side has been reduced by almost half the torque steer has got worse.
I have cranked down the diffs which has helped but not much i think i need a slipper ut i cant find any listed online does anyone know who sells them?
To mount the truck body, give MRC a call and speak with Ken. I believe the parts from the RT4GP gas truck will bolt on and let you mount up the truck body, you can probably even go further with the conversion and have a real 4wd stadium truck.
As for the torque steer issue, you may have to look into balancing weight on the chassis. With the new V2 coming out next year, weight balance will be pretty easy.

Looks like the V2 is out....their's one listed on e-bay out of Korea....not pro but looks like it's here....I'll wait for the pro...
