If I were to cram a 7.2 volt battery into my truck as a receiver pack...would it screw up the servos? I'm pretty sure I can fit one...it's a T-Maxx.

receiver are not designed to handle the voltage from a 7.2volt battery. The actual voltage may be as high at 10 volts in a typical stick pack. If you do that you will fry your receiver quickly. Pick up a quality receiver pack from Orion, Trinity, or Mugen. Their packs have 1100mah and are use in hour long mains with no problem.

What do you mean packs carry up to 10 volts? I thought they called them 7.2v because they were 7.2volts. Anyway...you can put lower in there why cant you put higher? If I really do have to buy a receiver pack...can I charge it on a regular peak charger? Or do I have to buy a receiver pack charger. Dynamite makes the Mega Peak which has dual charge system for stick and receiver packs. Should I get that?

You just can't use higher voltage. There's a range of voltage that allows for safe and trouble-free operation, and for most, if not all systems a 6-cell (7.2v) pack is too much. Even though the nominal voltage rating in 1.2 volts per cell (6-cells = 7.2v), the actual voltage when the battery is fully charged can get as high as 8 to 10 volts. Electric cars using 6-cell batteries have an electrnoic circuit within the speed controller to reduce the voltage supplied to the receiver.
Yes, you can use a typical battery charger to charge a receiver pack provide the charger is rated for this type of charging. For example, the Novak Millenium was designed with this purpose is mind. Other chargers however, may only be rated to charge 6 to 7-cell packs, in which case they wouldn't work. The maximum charge rate that I'm comfortable using is 1 amp.

Any idea how long a 5 cell 600mah NiCad receiver pack would last? Right now i'm recharging it before each heat and the main and completely discharge it and the end of the day. It peaks at @8.2v and after the 5 minute heat it's at @6.3 (i think the 6.3 is correct).

Thanks
