I just got my Mini manta on the water the other weekend. It just wouldn't rev out at all. I shortened the pipe so it would fit in the boat. I am running a x440 and it ran good on my NH. I just transfered everything over from my NH :D So, does the deeper V of the boat make it have to run a smaller prop??? Will the X437-3 let the engine rev more???

what kind of weight differences are there between hulls?

I would say the Manta is a little heavier because the glass is thicker.

Same engine in a heavier boat w/same prop. I'd say its not going to rev either. Slap that smaller three blade on there but it might be too much.

you say you made the pipe fit, maybe its to short and its not getting on the pipe. You should never just make a pipe fit, they are ment to be a certain lenth, so you can pick where the power comes in. Might be yours is to short, and the engine wont rev high enough to come on the pipe. Thats what it sounds like to me. Unless the hull is alot more heavy it shouldve been ok. Make sure your prop isnt to deep in the water too.

I would say that you should try the different prop, but, as Burkey said, shortening the pipe means it was probably just acting like a canister exhaust and never getting on the pipe. So, the two things I would do are lengthen the exhaust up to its original length, and try the other prop

I am going to order a macs pipe for it so I will make that the correct length for performance. This was just the factory crappy pipe anyway.
