Hey
Just wondering if anyone has tried to put a motor out of a nitro car with the clutch in it?? would it work?

I think there would be a way to do it but stuffed if i know right now!!

i will have a closer look at it tommorrow after work.

Has anyone any ideas. Or would it be a waste of time?

also how would you cool the car nitro engine? can you wrap a coil around the head? would that suffice?

Cheers Guys

i had thought about doing the same to a friends boat, there just isnt enough room to put a clutch in there. With some modifications you might be able to put a clutch system out of a traxxas nitro vee in there. but i dont know if the threads on the dynomite motor and the trx .15 are the same. My friends boat had no room behind the pull start and only about 1/2 inch between the radio box and the carb of the motor. if you were able to slide the motor back at all and still be able to fill the tank via a quick connect fitting of some kind. you might have enough room for a car clutch and modified clutch bell to fit there. You would surely need to change props, and also you would need to find a way for cooling the motor while at an idle. If that boat is anything like my electric hydro weight is a serious issue, any thing more than the required equipment will sink it if its not on plane. It was about the same size i believe, Hydro and Marine Viper 12 cell hydro.

This isn't the first time that I've seen this question. Yes, it is tight in there, too tight to squeeze a clutch setup in there.
As for the second question, an air-cooled engine could go in there, you'd just have to remove the smoked plastic insert in the air scoop so that it could get more air.
