Hi, I just found this board - and wished I had stumbled on it sooner! I have been building scale and fast RC boats for years and need some help with my current project. It is a 1/12th scale Great Harbour N37 Trawler. The fiberglass hull, deck, house and roof came directly from the manufacturer of the full-size boats! Seems they were contemplating building a static model for anyone who purchased one of their full-size boats - so they made the molds and popped out a few sets of pieces - and then built one fairly amateurish static version - but that's as far as they got.

I have been working on the model for several weeks now and it is almost finished. I am just waiting for the three speed controllers (port, stbd & thruster) to complete the running package. And most of the detail work is also finished.

My problem is locating portholes large enough for this model (the boat is 45" long by 16" wide!) I need six approx. 1.5" (75mm) portholes. The biggest I have found are only 5/8". I can fabricate my own if necessary - and that may be the only way to go - but it would sure be simpler if someone knows of a source. Also, I would like to find scale Danforth (maybe 2.25" long) and Delta-type (same size) anchors. Again, I will fab them myself if necessary.

By the way, if anyone is interested - and since most of you are probably not familiar with this boat - and since I don't believe anyone has ever built an RC version of it before - I will be happy to post some pics and further info on my running package.

Thanks again for a great board. ERIC

Thanks, but have already been to both those sites - in fact I buy quite a lot of my fittings, radios, motors, etc. at Harbor Models - good people. Still can't find anyone with (round) portholes an inch in diameter or larger...
