I've been looking at this truck for awhile and I'm confused about it. You can get 3 different kits: Ford body with, what appear to be road tires, Dodge body with the same road tires and Baja Buggy body with knobby tires. Is everything else about the truck the same? If so, why sell an offroad truck with street tires?
In the RCCA Buyers Guide the baja buggy kit is listed in the off-road section and one of the other kits (I forget if it's the dodge or ford) is in the on-road section. I will probably be buying this vehicle in the future and I want to make sure I have all the info I need before I buy.
Thanks in advance for any replies

Big Wig, I just sold the RS4 MT with the Dodge body. It came with on road ProLine tires. IMHO, look at some of the other off road stadium trucks, they're probably a lot more durable (that's why I sold mine).

Big Wig, let me be more specific, consider the Team Associated RC10T3 instead. Most of my time with the RS4 MT was spent odering parts, it's too fragile especially if you want off road. This has been my experience.

Big Wig, let me see if I can't answer your questions...I have the F150, so it came with the on-road tires. The F150 kit was first, then came the Dodge kit, now they're offering a more off-road oriented truck, the Beetle Bug. The trucks are identical, except for the bodies (and in the buggies case, the tires). Now, obviously, the MT is derived from a touring car, the RS4 sedan. That is probably why the F150 and Dodge come with street tires. You can always put off road tires on them, as they use standard 2.2" rims (with HPI hex hub). Also, the MT has an adjustable ride height (one setting for street and one for off road) as well as an adjustable wheel base. It's a very versatile truck.
I think it's a great truck. Easy to build and very durable. Plus, there are all kinds of hop ups for it.

I always wondered how people double-posted. Now I know! Sorry guys...

I have the baja bug version. I've been bashing it around for about a month and a half now. Only thing I have damaged is the lexan body. I ripped the wing off in the first 15 minutes of driving. Later, the bug body cracked in half where the rear mount is. I fixed it, but bought the dodge body just to bash around with. Hope that lasts longer. As far as the rest of it goes, I've had some pretty bad crashes and was surprised nothing else broke.

Ok, to sum it up, everything else is the same. It's a great handling street truck. It also handles very well in the dirt with dirt tires.
However, Fergy made some excellent points. You asked a techinical question and you got more then you asked for, so what. I had an MT, it's horrible for backyard bashing, especially for the first timer who tends to hit things. I know, I was such a person when I bought mine and had to repair it almost every time I ran it. I've seen newbies with 2WD have a ball their first time out.
If you still decide to get her the MT, don't buy one, but two, and you'll have some spare parts for a while. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
I'm curious how you think it's a pretty good truck since you don't own one?

i have the Ford f-150 and the reason it has road tires is because its a very capeble on road truck but you will be surprised of the traction of the road tires off road, though you should get off road tires. All three trucks are identical except for the obvious (Tires, body). Though some of them have on road tires, they ARE ment for off road.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I already like the RS4 MT because a freind of mine has one,... he bought the Baja Bug kit and I just wanted to make sure all the kits were the same.
