Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone on this list has built a Dumas Victory Tug. I just got mine from Tower Hobbies ( I needed to use a gift certificate before it expired) and was pretty upset when I looked in the box. It appeared like someone had practised with a circular saw and put all the scraps in the box. Now I dont want to bad mouth Dumas, but has anyone else experienced the really poor quality of their kits? Looking through the box I found the folded "reduced size" plans and an instuction booklet but no bill of materials, is this common?
I will still attempt to build the boat, most likely substituting better quality materials as I go. Looks like a Fall project for sure.

Yup, all their hydroplane kits tend to be that way. When people ask, I tell them to do the same thing you are going to do, use the wood for templates and hand cut new. A lot of their running gear is just as cheaply done, so I dont even look at Dumas as an option anymore

Seems like everything else is, so I can't really see them doing anything different for the crackerbox kits
