I talked with my dad and he's convinced PPG automotive paints will work fine on RC cars since it was designed to paint plastic panels that flex (Like dent resistant automotive doors). Any ideas?

I have a cousin who is very good at auto body and has his own shop he told me that those paints would work fine. I've yet to try but, I'll take my next body to him.

don't the automotive paints have a primer layer first?

the automotive paints will work well on hard plastic bodies like clodbuster n midnight pumpkin as long as they are sprayed with primer first just like a real car.
as for using it on lexan bodies,i am sure it will flake off due to the lexan being so flexible sooner or later!

Add flex agent to the paint plus an adhesion promotor like bulldog and it should work. Trial end error is better than hear-say.

I got a pint of paint so It can be resprayed quite a few times i'd bet. It's fairly tough and flexes quite well also.

I spray cars for a living and no it doesn't work ..
i used Sikkens paint and it just flakes off after the first few runs .. i used flex and adhesion promotors and it still doesn't work .. i would love it if it did but it doesn't hold up
