Villain EX speed control limit question

Hey, all

Does anybody know if the stock speed controller for the Villain EX can handle 2 seven cell battery packs? I'm running the stock 550 motors. But I have upgraded my props and installed water cooling.

I bet it can - I've run twin 7 cell packs in my E-Maxx without problems (with the ESC at any rate). Check the motors often however. I fried 3 motors before I found the right gearing. That shouldn't be as much of a problem with the EX - the water cooling should help - but I'd still be careful. Enjoy the extra power - my Maxx really woke up with the 14 cells.

That does help get me in the right direction as for the batteries. Unfortunately when I was running my boat at a local lake today I hit a dead head at full speed. It bent my Beryllium props and sheard one of the gears. Oh well, Time for more upgrades again.

This speed control can handle ONE STOCK 775 on 14 cells,
but dies, and melts FAST with a Cordite attached :)
