Last Saturday I almost lost my Extreme at dusk because I couldn't tell which way it was going. After failing to rig some LEDs from RadioShack on the wings I decided to drop the $20 for the HobbyZone night flight module. It is awesome and adds a whole new experience to flying.
There's LEDs on the top of the module that light up the bottom of the wings; LEDs on the side and then on the back. Seeing it fly over you all lit up is something you have to see for yourself.
Now, don't be a moron like me and forget to put on the landing gear (hand toss). I didn't think of it until I was bringing it down that I was bringing down right on the module. Fortunately, the stars were aligned properly and the Gods allowed me to land it softly without trashing a $20 module.
If you have $20 to spend and want to try something cool, I would suggest getting one. The parts at RadioShack were about $15 but I couldn't get the lights to stay on all at once.
