View Full Version : Mt. Washington Show & Tell
Here are some pics of my Mt. Washington. I added a few extra details such as brass valves, fittings, etc. Power is an AstroFlite 40. I had to add seals between the removable superstructure and the fixed paddle wheel housings. Without the seals, the paddle wheels tended to pump water into the hull.

Well, I think that you did a nice job on your Mt Washington, your grandkids will be proud of it when they inherit it. The brass really makes it look good. What is that black structure amidships, looks like a donkey engine. Looks like you got your handrail problems worked out. Do you have a problem stearing with that side wheeler? The reason that I ask is that I built the Creole Queen and I almost lost it to the wind that was out that day. But I have to say that it was fun. I have a CD player in my Creole queen with calliope music and steamboat sounds, and that was cool.

Re; the black thing
what you see is a scale version of the drive mech of the original boat, its called a 'walking beam' steam engine. evidently they decided not to use horizontal steam cylinders.

Hi there A-37, I tried your photo links and earthlink can't find them. Did you take them off? Would love to see them. Cheers......Fatboy999
