I'm looking to get a good set of hex wrenches to work on my T4 cuz I've striped most of the L shaped ones I have and they were a pain to build with. I already have an MIP Thorp wrench for the motor screws and I like it a lot. I'm thinking about getting a set of those but they're expensive at around $14 a piece. Is this money well spent or are there other alternatives. The Team Losi wrenches look good since you can save a little if u buy them in a set.
Thanks

You should definetly get some quality hex wrenches. It'll save you a lot of time and grief. Duratrax has a set of 4 for $30. I've also seen Rdlogics 7 piece set on ebay for about $40.

a good set of hex drivers is well worth the money. I purchased the RD Logics wrenches, they are way better than the L shape wrenches. When it came time to replace the tips I was able to get Integy TiN coated tips for 5 bucks a piece. Go for it...

I'd check these out..they seem reasonably priced.
Team Bluestar Hex Drivers (http://www.teambluestar.com/hexdrivers.htm)
I know you can typically get them on ebay for ten bucks plus shipping. All told it's like 17 bux..not bad

The integy ones come in standard and metric measurements in one set of 6. I have used L wrenches for over 6 years on cars. When I bought a set a month ago, rebuilding cars was way easier.
Someone should make Titanium nitride L wrenches

I bought the Thorp drivers and have never regretted it for a minute. They were worth the money and a real pleasure to use. I started out with a that set of Duratrax ball drivers, but they're not hardened and they have worn and now slip. Nothing worse in my mind that a driver that slips.
You want something that is hardened. If its not, it will wear and then slip.
Wiha sells an excellent set of ball and straight drivers. Just google whia for places that sell them.

Ok, I should rephrase that to quality.

There's really only three you need, 1.5, 2 and 2.5mm. If you buy the pair of thorpes drivers for the revo (2, 2.5mm) it'll save you a few bucks, then add the 1.5mm separately and you've got all you'll need. Which one do you have now?

um the T4 is a standard truck not metric, if you use metric wrenches, you will need a new screw kit after you strip them all out !!!!!
Buy the associated ones, 45 for a complete set, but imho, Spend the money on the hudy, i always made fun of my buddy with the hudy, but one weekend when i forgot the tool box at home, and had to borrow his(the hudy) i was on the phone to the lhs ordering by the second round of qualifiers, They feel the best , are super light , and will ast forever! Spring steel rules!!!!

Sorry, my mistake (had no idea), but MIP Thorp drivers come in standard sizes too.

Unfortunately, no combined deals like for the revo. So minus the one you already have, they're $13.40 ea.

The Hudy drivers are really good. They can get expensive if you buy them individually but they come in packages so that cuts down the price quite a bit. These are probably the best tools I've used.

the hudy pro-fit tools are a great idea too, they replace the handle from metal to a plastic handle , but they use the same shafts, at only 8 bucks or so a piece, they are a great alt. but the alum handles feel soooooooooooooooooooooo nice!

what would the hudy 8 piece allen wrench set run?

I think these are much nice than the MIP ones. Aluminum handles which are also hollow so you can put extra screws or parts in them. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGBP3&P=ML

Has anyone used ths racing hex driver (https://secure.handzon.com/itechapp/admin/checkout/?storeid=1531&prodid=37915&storereferer=http://thsracing.com/?pageid=28217#) they look pretty good and the whole set is only $31.

THS makes exceptional pipes, so I would imagine some of that quality would transfer into tools as well.
One company you might check out is Racer's Edge. I honestly can't stand most Racer's Edge products, but we use their tools in the shop I work at, and I've gotta say, they're superb. You can imagine they get used a bit at a hobby shop, and the bits are still in good shape. I don't care for the handles really, but they're not too bad. The bits more than make up for it, really, they are the best tools I've ever used. They're as good or better than my AE set.

I love Craftsman's guarantee! My uncle was fixing the oven and accidentally left a screw drive in it after he was done and when they used started using the oven again the whole plastic handle melted until only the shaft was left. Well he took the shaft part into Sears to looking for a replacment and they just asked him "Do you have the handle?"

I was looking for the hex drivers with handles and I didn't think Craftsman made any? I've only sceen the L shaped ones and some with a T shaped handle.
