Hi everybody, I am currently using an Iwata revolution gravity feed airbrush. After spraying some createx clearcoat it seems that it has gummed up my brush. Is soaking all the parts in rubbing or dentured alcohol ok for the airbrush? Thanks

Rubbing alcohol isn't too bad on the brush, but soaking it in denatured alcohol for a prolonged period can deteriorate the seals in it. I wouldn't soak it for too long. I recommend getting the airbrush cleaning kit from Dixie Art.com. They have a number of small scrub brushes that are great for cleaning out those hard to reach spots. It also comes with a cleaning solvent that won't harm any parts of your brush. The solvent is great for acrylics but isn't much for anything else.

Be sure to thoroughly clean out your brush before you spray any lacquer thinner based paints through it or you'll wind up with a sludge that dries like concrete.
